Would halo have been better off with bungie?

think about it, what if back in 2010 bungie made halo 4 as a continuation of the series rather than a farewell-to-fans game? Would it have really been better than what 343 have given us? or would it have been worse?

many people I know think so, but im doubtful, what do you guys think?

Maybe if Bungie actually wanted Halo to continue.

bungie left cuz they are done with halo. they wanted to move on.

just like any other art form, you cant force it. the artist has to do it for the love of the art itself otherwise the art suffers. they no longer had the love and thats why they went on to destiny.

i dont feel i can vote for the options you provided. sorry.

Keep in mind that im implying a what if situation… That halo reach would never have been made and Bungie genuinely wanted to continue the series instead of making another franchise…

oh im sorry if i misunderstood.

so in a world where its post halo 3 and prior to halo reach? and bungie has no desire to move on from halo?

in that case i would say that bungie would have made a great game. i think the game would have been a good continuation of the series without nearly as many flaws as halo 4. customs would be good, glitches would be fairly low, the campaign would have been awesome as it always is lol. yes i think bungie would have made this a much different and in my opinion better game.

one thing i think bungie has over 343 is that bungie is their own toughest critic. i dont think they would have let the game ship the way it did.

i think they could have kept on going strong and i think it would be superior to what we have now game wise.

> Maybe if Bungie actually wanted Halo to continue.

Pretty much.

I do think that if they were still passionate about Halo, then yes it would have been better.

yeah, since bungie wanting to leave was a big factor in reach being made, So I doubt reach would ever have been made if they decided to stay on.

At the most, it probably would have been a spin-off of the “Bungie Made” halo 4 like how ODST was for 3…

This is how I view it:

Halo 4 would have been better with Bungie, but still not that great. I think Bungie stopped caring enough to try, whereas 343 had the wrong idea of what Halo needed.

For the future, I think 343 would be the better option; they are still new enough to care, but hopefully experienced enough (after Halo 4) to know what actually needs to be done with Halo.

That is a speculative statement that is literally impossible to know.

well to be fair so is almost every question in the universe forum.

you could at least give your opinion to keep your post constructive. just sayin.

Not extacly,it more of a matter of weather halo is better with this new developer or if bungie truly did wanted to continue the series…

i call it… " looking at an idea with a different point of view’

or speculation for short XD

I liked all four Bungie releases better than Halo 4, so I’m gonna say it probably would have been.

Of course I thought Reach was a step backwards in some ways, so its not like Bungie was untouchable.

Its a moot point, which almost makes this whole thread a nonconstructive post, but I’ll just leave on the note that I think Halo 5 will be significantly more appealing to me.

Bungie was planning destiny before reach came out. If they tried to continue halo, their heart would’ve have been in it. Since their passion is what fueled the franchise, I think halo 4 would actually be worse off.

Reach would not exist in this what if situation

Halo 4 would have been more of a normal Halo game. The formula would have been more akin to Halo 2-3 era. It is immposible to predict the result because it is unknown whether or not the fan-base would get sick of the same thing over again, or would love to play the same thing over again. The reason Halo 4 is worse than most Halo games, isn’t the new features, the reason is because of the lack of classic gametypes. Even in Reach, you could remove Sprint, Bloom (in MLG gametype), and AA’s. In Halo 4, you can’t remove Flinch, and Sprint.

Sure then.

But “what if” 343 had been able to start development with their full team already in place, and unpressured by Microsoft?

But then are we talking about Bungie or golden developer who doesn’t exist?

Bungie had new fun game play ideas that just would not fit into the Halo universe. If they had stayed on they either would have compromised the Halo universe, or their game play mechanics. I am glad they passed it off. I am looking forward to Destiny.
