The reason I suggest it is because alot of know-nothings claim that competitive players want to reduce the sandbox to one precision weapon when the fact is that we just don’t want to use garbage automatics. More precision rifles, more unique effects, more variety with skill-requiring weapons. Win.
Spikes are very slow projectiles, not very suitable for a long range rifle.
A spiker rifle would have to be automatic to make up for the slow projectiles (so you could actually hit a thing), but then what would separate the spiker rifle from the spiker, if there isn’t any duel wielding?
Or, we could make it a long range headshot rifle and make the spikes very fast (hit-scan). But then, what would separate this spike rifle from the DMR? Or the carbine?
There isn’t really a niche for another spike rifle imo. I feel as if the sandbox is already redundant enough, with, for example, both the AR and the ‘assault carbine’ (?) being in the game.

Halo 4 seems to have plenty precision weapons, but could always use a heavy
A LMG/HMG brute weapon would be perfect, an awesome gun used only by the best, limited accuracy but big ammo and plenty of fire rate/power, a born “shredder”. Can be used against infantry or vehicles, at close-mid range.

this^ he is right even my concept was semi-auto. although its looking like halo 4 wont have many automatics

as far as I know, we already have 4 precision weapons in H4, even though none of them are semi-auto, it doesn’t seem like we really need more precision weapons tbh…

You guys, he just mention those guns as examples of “weapons that besicly did the same thing as other weapons”, the fact they’re automatics and not “semi-automatic precision rifles” is not the point.
DMR, light rifle, carbine, there you got some, the Br is not all that different either ^^
Halo needs more unique weapons (needler) not more precision weapon clones.
