Would a higher or lower max level be better?

Would you think a lower max level needing less xp is neccessary or should they raise it

I dont see a reason to lower it. Keep it high, but have plenty of milestones along the way. In my humbe opinion, if you are a casual gamer, you should be able to get max rank within that halo’s lifespan (until the announcement of the next halo) . an hour a day… if it takes more than that… then its too high, if it takes less than that … then its too low.
But even if you have a nice setup with respect to xp required, notable progress where you feel accomplished every gaming session is also preferable.

Keep it high but make sure the journey is worth it. Have lots of rewards and milestones along the way.

I would like the ranks to be based off real military ranks instead of numbers. I would also really like the max rank to be hard to get, but not as hard as halo 5’s. Finally It would great to receive unique armor as rewards towads the last few ranks.

I think the ranks should be based in the usual military ranks seen before in Halo multiplayer, which means less ranks while if similar amount of required xp would be needed to rank up then maybe some midway points would be added that yeld rewards, something like dripfeed in mid of ranks.
Just so that the grind wouldn’t be so boring, & I think max rank should be achievable before getting enough of the game so players can actually enjoy the rewards for achieving max rank instead of it being the end of the line, so I wouldn’t be in favor of hundreds of hours of required playtime to gain the required xp to max rank.
So few dozen hours max.
And military ranks because SR is the most basic & boring design imagineable, increasing a number by 1 each time, sarcastic yay.

Level 117 Max, just make them a little harder to obtain than Halo 5. And each level mostly gives you credits to buy stuff the Reach Way, no REQ’s, with a few extra things for milestones such as every 10 levels you get a firefight voice or armor piece.

I just want them to return to the military ranks of Halo Reach

In Halo 5 it’s perfect in my opinion.

Totally. I’m shooting for Lvl. 117 before Infinite’s release.

I think it’s fine, but I’m really neutral on an xp system as it’s nothing but playtime which I don’t value much. Lower it and it just means you rank up faster with less play time, raise it and the opposite is needed to rank up.

Agreed. Even though I’m certainly not getting that 1 hour a day, 3 years straight these days. I feel like 150 is a fine cap.

Maybe if they use a Reach rank system, the final rank is Master Chief Petty Officer. And for that the reward is…The Recon.

I think Halo 5’s ranking is amost perfect except for a few things. I like the fact that in order to reach max you have to play…ALOT! And in my opinion that’s how it should be. It’s possible for anyone to obtain, doesn’t cost money to get there and all you need to do is play.

Here’s the thing however which can be improved to keep people from being burnt out. Once you start getting higher up in the ranks and the XP requirements start to sky rocket I think there should be “stepping stones” within in those ranks to the milestone of completing that rank to entice players to keep going. A mini reward inisde of getting the bigger reward. For example say the required XP for the next rank is 1millon. Instead of having to go through all that on its on, have a stepping stone reward every 200k xp that unlocks perhaps, double xp for ten minutes or for the next 2 matches.

I say this from my own experience with Halo 5. I’m not even that high up in rank and I can’t imagine how minuscule that xp bar must move after each game. So I think by having those stepping stone along the way will keep players driven and motivated to continue.
