Worthless Elites [SPOILERS]

I know Spartans are supposed to be unkillable gods of war now but come on, this is getting WAY out of hand.

There are so many scenes in the first like hour of the game where Elites get mauled with little to no effort, it’s borderline turning the Covenant into nothing more than comic relief.

It’s like the instant Spartans step in the Sangheili become completely -Yoinking!- inept at combat or something. Watch as the mightiest warriors of the Covenant just -Yoinking!- stand there and let the Spartans hand their -Yoinks!- to them, or pull out swords instead of just -Yoinking!- shooting them (why do so many of them even have swords anyway?!). Not even Jul Mdama stood a chance, Locke just basically Assassinated him at that was the end of it.

I swear if I see one more effortless Elite slaughter scene in this game I’m gonna lose it.

(END RANT)

Seeing Jul being killed off in a cutscene so early in the game was rather disappointing. However I guess he’s more of an opportunist rather than a warrior.Oh Yeah. Heavy spoiler, don’t read.

Well… We kinda perfected the most efficient way to kill elites since 2001. I imagine that experience transferred to all these spartans.

Terrible way to end the first level.

I mean, did all the budget went into the opening? Was Jul 'Mdama drunk during that scene? At least that would explain why the fight was terrible in every possible way.

And they clearly didn’t learn their lesson there, as the opening of level 2 has the Elites act like complete morons (again).

If they wanted to save some budget, why not make Halsey’s rescue scene playable? At least the Elites would offer some challenge instead of, well… nothing at all.

With how easy he went down I would not see this as much as a spoiler.

If it was playable and there was 1 needler grunt beside Jul it would be THAT anti climatic, let alone all Locke would have to do is spartan charge him to complete the mission.

Far better when compared to standing there, swinging his sword like if he was trying to hit a piñata.

I’m not too convinced having it playable like that would be better. they’re opening missions after all.

Yeah, there’s really not much to spoil with that. The scene was so lame you wouldn’t be missing anything.

I feel like Jul might not be dead, and later on he’ll be killed by the arbiter, but I could be wrong.

I feel like something huge has to happen for it to make sense to kill a major character like that.

I really REALLY hope so. Correct me if I’m wrong, but he’s been a pretty big character in the extended universe thus far on top of being the MAIN ANTAGONIST following Halo 4’s ending.

All the buildup between him and Halsey, and for what? One minute of screen time before he’s instantly killed in the first level of Halo 5? God, I hope not.

I hope so too. He definitely COULD have lived. He was sliced in the leg, stabbed in lower right side of his stomach/knee, and stabbed near the back side of his neck/shoulder area. If he got stabbed in the neck from the front, then maybe I would be more doubtful, but I feel they definitely could make a scenario out of that where he lived but was too weak to lead his Covenant.
I bet that was actually supposed to be the last we see of him though unfortunately. The scene felt so anticlimactic though…Blegh I’m undecided.

It is not confirmed that jul is officially dead despite what it may seem like. I mean who else is going to lead the storm?

Yes it is. It’s stated that he’s dead in both the second and eighth missions. Some of you may not like it, but Jul is certainly dead.

Good about time the Elites were shown to be the useless scum that they are, These Elites are a disgrace to the race and the covenant and I am glad they are being depicted in this way. I feel at this time the only Elites that should trouble Spartans would be those lead by Thel. As they would be well trained and more than capable of taking most Spartans. Fortunately for us however they are on our side and not against us.

The one and almighty SALI 'NYONor that one guy from Halo Legends I can’t even remember his name lol, Luro or something?

I mean I really don’t care either way. He had his time during the comics and during halo 4. He blamed his wife’s death on the humans, deceived that religious sanghelios faction turning them into the swords, lied about being the didiacts hand and went on a meaningless quest for power. Tbh he wasn’t fit for a leader and should have died in h4 but thats my opinion.

As for the elites yeah they could have made them take a bit more effort to beeat down but they’re pretty much exhausted. The storm is at war with humans, swords, and forerunners ( I think).

If you played halo wars just be glad it wasn’t a normal marine forge killing jul like he did that arbiter in that game in one knife stab. At least jul took 3 stabs

Trust me I agree. I really feel like they should’ve at least made Locke and Osiris work for it. Instead, them taking down Jul and his Elites was basically just another day at the office for them. Shame really. A character as big as Jul should’ve gotten a better death.

I personally don’t care for Jul, but I think it’s hilarious how in the opening cutscene they build him up to be this really dangerous foe, and then he’s killed so easily IN A CUTSCENE. And he literally pretty much just stands there while Locke kills him. Lol.
