Worst version of BTB in any Halo

Can we please get a classic BTB mode soon. BTB 2.0 is a complete let down. One base starting with BRs and the other getting Commandos is completely broken. The weapons not being in the same location every game makes it very hard to deal with vehicles, because you don’t know where you need to go to look for an anti vehicle gun. The vehicle’s seem to randomly just show up sometimes, and are mostly broken ie Scorpion is pretty much undrivable, and the Chopper is just useless. Ordinance drops are annoying and again being random, do I really want to run out and check a drop, only to find out it’s a weapon I don’t want to use. Also weren’t the ordinance drops one of the main complaints in Halo 4 BTB?

It’s also the maps. Fragmentation is fine, but way too tight for tanks and air vehicles. Deadlock is just kind of boring. And Highpower might the most unbalanced map ever made.

Maybe that’s why those vehicles didin’t spawn so often at the beginning.
It was the fans that made 343I make the tanks spawn more frequently.

This is my favourite BTB from the Halo games so far, I like how there is lots of scavenging, no round based modes and more close range fights occur all over the map.

It could definitely use more maps and game modes now we are more familiar with it.

Grenades are always in the same place and best thing against the vehicles.

Personally, I like the random spawns… when its fair.
The commando and BR always swap spawns, but sometimes one side gets one of each. And the commando needs a buff anyway. (I would also make it the starter to deal with the AR’s range issue in BTB while not going back to the BR spam-fest.)
Like both sides should get a tank (scorpion and wraith) not just one side. Same with aircraft.
Ghosts, Choppers, and rocket hogs should spawn together.
Regular hogs shouldn’t be dropped. Neither should gungeese, those should be at regular spawn with mongooses further from base.
But yeah. Vehcile balance is horrible, on top of the map design not suited to vehicles. And general physics are wonky.

BTB with 12v12 is like it’s never been before in Halo. It takes some getting use to. I’m still undecided on how I feel about the current state of it.

I’d like to premise this by saying I think BTB definitely needs some reworking to be more similar to legacy BTB.

That being said, this talking point of “I don’t know where the anti vehicle weapons spawn” is being overblown in the last day or so imo. I get it, the wall box hydra and shock rifles spawn locations change from game to game. But it’s not honestly that hard to figure out where they are each game.

Like if it’s 8 minutes into a BTB and you never took 15 seconds a couple spawns throughout the game to figure out where your anti-vehicle stuff is yet, that’s kinda on you.

Having a Ravager spawn for one team and a hydra for the other is a huge issue. The fact that their spawn locations can mix between 2-3 spots game-to-game isn’t that big of a deal to me.

So basically what you’re saying is that BTB is a mess. Sorry, not sorry, it’s more like this entire beta is a mess and someone needs to get on 343 a** to start making a game.

The randomized, occasionally non-symmetrical weapon spawns and vehicle drops really piss me off. It’s a case of 343 trying to change something just to change it.

The pelican drop system would’ve been cool as a minor addition once or twice a match to mix it up and add a heavy vehicle ‘objective’ to fight over, but not to replace the majority of vehicle spawns and certainly not to give one team random advantages or disadvantages depending on where it drops.

My biggest complaint is no BR or ranged precision weapon off spawn. It’s just ppl sticking together spamming ARs that have a headshot modifier and way to much range.

We need BR game modes or a way to veto or vote for different game mods with different starting weapons. Spawning and running to a weapon rack that you have to stare at til the blue bar fills up is “boring”.

Plus if a good team gets the ranged weapons before you do and traps you at your base then it’s game over, especially in a slayer mode.

I don’t mind this Version of BTB but I hate having to scavenge for a longer range weapon & how Vehicle drops are so one sided at times, one side gets a Wraith or a Scorpion and your side gets a Rocket Hog

They should have had Valhalla in the game that is by far one of the communities favorites and they wouldn’t even have to change much of it. It was one of the best balanced maps for BTB

Honestly just wish both sides started out at least at the beginning with a wraith or scorpion like the classic BTB. Once destroyed ok maybe than the vehicles drop in at random

Dude that’s 343’s MO just changing things to change it.

It’s the whole putting their own spin on things.

It would be nice if each base spawns with the same amount and type of vehicles to include power vehicles like wraiths, Banshees, wasp, and tanks.

Than as the match progresses maybe the spawn in at your base but through pelican drops

I think the fault is on both the fans and 343. Yeah fans asked for more tank spawns, but heavy and flying vehicles are part of what made BTB what it was. Before the patch you were lucky to even ride in a ghost. But freqwncy of spawns doesn’t change the fact that the maps are cramped. Look any of the Developer-made btb maps from H4. You’re almost always within range of a sticky grenade throw. Maps from CE-Reach gave vehicles very wide lanes and arenas to fight it (Sandtrap, Valhalla, Spire (Airspace)).

Either way I’d like to see something a little more open or spread out, or just something built with tanks in mind.

Should have just remade a few maps to launch alongside the new. At least they knew fans would like them.

They had so many blueprints of what we liked and what we don’t like and yet they somehow managed to screw it up wildly.

Guess we will have to wait till forge releases for the community to build better map content that 343

343 is basically going to get free labor, hell Of they use someone’s map they need to give them some form of profits

I just rage Quit BTB.

I never had these problems with Halo 2,3, or 4 BTB.

Weapon spawns are attrocious.

Mid map Vehicle Spawns are like a bunch of Chickens diving in for chicken feed poured from a bag.

Sandbox Balance is ehhhh

Grenade power and radius is insanely OP.

Desync amplifies those problems.

Ghost has perfect handling but is WAYYYY to strong health wise

Brute Chopper is a useless paperweight that Steers like a boat.

Banshee rarely spawns.

Hightower is meh AF

Warthog has bouncy moon gravity physics

Drop wall is useless in BTB When you’re getting beamed from multiple angles which is why the bubble shield should come back
