3D modeling is time consuming and expensive. Recoloring a texture jpeg takes seconds and is free. Therefore, selling coatings is the greatest profit for 343.
Next week is a holiday week also, so I wouldn’t expect much there either.
The prices are inconsistent especially if you consider the following; all items sold in the store are the same rarity since they’re ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE STORE. Changing the price due to rare or epic or legendary “rarity” makes no sense when it’s sold from the store.
At least we should be getting the Morrigan and Cambion armor bundles soon.
Shame that the ODST stuff was taken out of the Cambion bundle tho.
And Locus should come later this season I guess.

Why not? It’s Independence week anyway in the US, and using USA colors on the World War era style armor core makes interesting sense in a way, I suppose. I just think it’s stupid to not have it on all armor and vehicles. Pretty missed opportunity. I wouldn’t buy it either way, but I just despise 343’s marketing philosophy to sell broken bundles so you’re never matching, and have to buy mismatched bundles over time to almost match. It’ll go well with the eagle shoulders and gloves, and eagle AR and rwb coating, if someone also bought those 4 different bundles. Maybe cross-core will share all coatings.
343 keep selling us Red & Blue might as well revert the teams back to Red vs Blue if they keep giving us these coatings

Depends on what side of the issue you are on. A not-so-insignificant portion of the population would say a really great thing happened. I can’t imagine selling patriotic skins will put a dent in the relationship 343 has with the fans right now anyways.
Also, the skins are red, gray, and blue. Only with some little white accents that are barely noticeable.
Anyways, I’m not trying to start a political debate, and if you are then I’m not interested.

at this point i find it knd of funny (but more sad) that people complain about the store prices. they are exactly right for 343s customers, the investors.
gamers spending money are the product (non paying gamers are a side product like sawdust).
and everyone who spends money (even the smallest amounts) on the store is supporting these practices.
I’m not telling you what to do with your money, but just be aware that the gaming industry and especially AAA games are in this sorry MT contaminated state, bc of people spending money on microtransactions.
(i also know, that the whales are probably not on these forums and don’t care)
At this moment I can’t believe anything else that 343I is milking Halo for all the money it’s worth.
The passion for making a great Halo game instead is gone.
The increase the prices slowly, when players speak out against it they put down the prices but also the content in the bundles.
Like really 343I? That doesn’t make the situation better ffs.

I have a feeling the coating that cost $7 was originally supposed to be in a bundle with the American styled Eaglestrike armor.
This week’s store is terrible but hey, saved me some cash so thanks 343. Now if only you made all existing items swarchable and purchasable in store like Gears 5 did and I’d buy the chest piece I want but missed in a heartbeat.
Until we get a whole catalog that lets us pick and choose that also gets rid of the fomo along with them stop trying to raise the prices again this thread title is going to pop up in people’s heads over and over
Although i agree with what you’re saying rn you shouldn’t forget that a lot of halo fans are in the military and have a strong love for America
As for me i can’t stand the recent decisions especially if you compare it with their decisions with guns
I’m gonna’ level with you, a lot of people come out of the military with an intense distaste. I’m a Marine Corps brat (if that’s unclear, that means I was raised by a parent in the Corps.)
You can be in the military and not be a jingoist. Most are in because of the financial security and VA benefits.
