Servers’s are not completely down, back out of search and try again if you fail to find a game after 5-10 mins. You’ll get one eventually and then its good fun.

Give it some time. I’m not advocating that this should be normal and acceptable but this does seem to occur a lot with new game releases. Destiny has been out now for months and people still can’t even play the game yet due to issues. I know I’ve been disconnected plenty of times due to random network issues. To be honest the xbox one live service is subpar compared to what we had on 360. Basic party functions don’t work most of the time etc…
Call of Duty Launch went just fine for me. Got in and out of matches as soon as it released last Monday. I’m sure they had the same if not more people playing matchmaking. So let’s face it, a day one release with no matchmaking issues is possible…just not from 343. Campaign is great though! I’ll get my 10 hours of H2 campaign and leave it at that I guess. I’m sure H5 release will go off without a hitch though…/sarcasm

There were plenty of issues with AW when it launched last week. A quick google search will show that it wasn’t perfect either.
Online multiplayer games never have perfect launches.
I’m trying to remember, how long did it take before GTA5 Online was playable after it launched? I realize that wasn’t isolated to Xbox Live, but it’s the most recent huge screwup of a game launch from a major developer I can think of.
I am able to find Matches when im searching about 3 times 5 minutes in a row. 
The game is absolutely awesome when im finding some matches!
They have updated the main status page, but pretty much it says that they are still investigating and it’s their top priority.

Very hopeful they can resolve this soon, when the matchmaking works the game is simply superb. All we can do is wait for the repairs at this point.

Totally not the worst launch ever. You must not video game much? Or is this your first launch? In the past decade it’s been an ‘issue’ or ‘norm’ for this to happen. It should always be expected. Trust me, they care. They want to play from the couch too. As FPS communities go Halo is nowadays the largest, almost hands down. We love our halo, and halo loves us!
Give it time chief. Your patience is worth the wait.
