I wonder what has caused the low reviews. The poor campaign? Or are the reviewers just less and less into Halo games.
I hope the mp is all that its hyped to be at least.
According to whom? it has a 4.5 out of 5 in meta critic.
polygon gave it a 9, and they usually score low
everyone keeps saying its the best multiplayer fps yet, or in a long time (the verge, polygon, ars, and kotaku)
there is very little chance this will be the worst halo.

Who cares about reviews. The only review anybody should care about is their own. Play the game and make up your own mind. Don’t look at reviews and let them disappoint you. Opinions exist for a reason.
Halo Wars had an 82, ODST a 83, Strike an 86 and Assault a lowly 70. Though, by one hundredth, it is technically the worst main entry I suppose. Also you should also take a grain of salt. It’s positive across the board that the MP is a hit, but the supposed plot for game is well, it’s seriously dragging the game down.
everything i’ve read and seen about multiplayer looks killer and that’s the only reason i play the game
campaign could be 15 minutes of driving a ghost around for all i care as long as multiplayer delivers
Individual sites will vary in what the reviewer’s personal preferences are and how they affect the subjective rating. Metacritic is good for being an aggregate, which offsets these subjective and biased ratings, but its score will lag behind as more data is accumulated and parsed. Additionally, the reviews for a game like this are difficult because it is effectively two games; campaign and multiplayer. The final score is going to be some combination of the reviewer’s interest in each and that average value will shift from reviewer to reviewer. It would be better if the reviews could differentiate between the two and provide separate scores.
An overall rating of an 86 is not low by any means. Reviewers are no longer blinded y just the name as they usually are by other titles. Most have presented fair critiques that hopefully 343 learns from (aka dump the writer lol)
All the MP footage looks awesome.
Why is everyone talking about low reviews? The current metacritic score is 86, which is not low on my scale.
I’ve read a few reviews such as IGN’s and honestly.
Every single review ( that slates the game ) is by someone who isn’t as invested in the series as most people here on waypoint are.
Take em with a pinch of salt because we all know Halo 6 will come out and build on what gets started here, after all this is only the ‘beginning of the greatest hunt in gaming history’
All the lower reviews…by that I mean the 2 or 3 lower ones I’ve seen so far are from random po dunk blogs or websites anyway.
not to mention they’re all reviewing the campaign…which I assumed would be meh anyway.
