So, I have three teammates versus a three man team of elite players. Two of my teammates are bad, whilst each elite is competent or even a high tier player. My third teammate, just starts killing himself.
So, it ends up with this guy going -15 and all 3 elites bagging me and calling me a nerd. Mind you, I haven’t said anything the entire game bar a ‘wtf’ at the end in the text chat.
One of the -Yoink- matches ever. Blew my mind, really.

If you have clips or have the theatre save game you’re actually able to report player behaviour like this.
This evening I’ve had so so so many matches where players have been jumping off the map all game or attacking teammates. I just clip it & send it to Halo Support with the relevant information.
Experiences like that do ruin the game and suck the fun out of a match. Sadly it’s been happening quite a lot as of late
Yeah, I remember something like that happening to me too, where one of my teammates Team-killed me with a grenade, but it was at the beginning so I chose to forgive him rather than kick, thinking that he just threw a grenade at the enemy (Because I was really close to the enemy) and that he accidentally killed me at the same time, which happens a lot and I understand that. Unfortunately, that was a HUGE mistake, because what he did after that was kill himself over and over again, and occasionally shoot us as well. The match ended somewhere around a -20 to 50 or something like that. And the worst part is that you can’t ban them unless they TK you again. Oh, and if you DARE TK him, well guess what? You get kicked and banned. Yeah, it’s really annoying.

That is exactly why this harsh ban system is not a good solution, you should be able to quit matches like that. Luckely i haven’t gotten those matches (yet), but i wouldnt like to have those either.

I’d report the griefer on your team, since that should be against the rules.

Just need a way to surrender option if it’s clearly a once sided match. That would work fine.
I’ve been finding competitive to be a nightmare as of lately. I’d even go as far as to call the mode anti-fun right now.
If I’m not being pared up with absolute noobs on my team who get blown out, I get griefers who sit there doing nothing, shooting/grenading allies, or just quit out in the first 1-2 minutes of the match which leads to our team losing horribly. For too many matches it feels like I have to do most of the heavy lifting just to lose anyway as 2/4 players on my squad go 4-15 or someone quits. Of course the enemy team gets 2-4 MLG wannabe types almost every time. I’m actually hoping that 343 will not bring back the win 25 competitive matches challenge for S7. Getting two wins last week was hard enough. It’s a total game of luck. I would not miss that challenge, and would not miss the weekly 2 wins in competitive one either. The mode is a mess.

The risk of getting bad teammates is unfortunately one of the downsides of allowing something ( the matchmaking AI ) else to choose your teammates for you instead of picking them yourself.
I haven’t had matches where someone deliberately tries to go as negative as possible. However, it seems that lately almost every social game I get has someone who quits… Or goes AFK… Or starts griefing the team. With as convoluted and time consuming the reporting system is, it’s almost not worth it to search alone anymore. I’ll be wasting more time one the website than in game. Especially when the other team seems to be even semi-competent. Most of these games end with me having at least 20 kills while my team struggles to get a combined 10.
It’s a joke at this point, and there’s no point in playing if the community is filled with people like this. If you don’t want to play the game the way it was meant to be played? Then just don’t play.

Implement a mercy rule to automatically end a match when certain conditions are met. That might be a bit more difficult than a vote to end option, though.

Sad but true friend. The lack of population in the ranked playlists isn’t helping either. I’m a level 20 in H3 Team Slayer, and I regularly get paired up with level 1-10’s on my team, while the other squad gets 15-35s. Then I get a brief glance at my guys’ Tour ranks, which is typically Tour 1-3. And just like that, the other team gets players who are Tours 5-7. Instant loss. I know it before the match even starts.
At least Invasion is not as bad as H3 TS or some of the Hardcore playlists. Still plenty of nonsense in there too tho.

Yeah, but it would most likely prevent trolls from using a loophole jerk maneuver, where they just end the match as soon as it starts. If this system is to be implemented, it will have to have certain conditions. Like for example in a 8v8, you are a team of 4 or less, or in a 4v4, you are a team of 2 or less (Etc.), not to mention that all players of that team should have to vote in order to surrender, so that way the system isn’t abused and misused to cause even more frustration.
It can be a tactic. If one player on the opposite team tanks, it basically hands the victory to opponents. I remember this being an issue as far back as Halo 2. It’s almost impossible to win the game from the outset.
Not much you can do really. Honestly, I wish they would have lobbies for “single” players that just want to play competitive team games without going against actual groups/teams.

Yeah, I learned quite quickly that playing on weekends guarantees bad matches.

True. If you are by yourself and are paired with a team of randoms and you go against a clan of 4, It will probably end up with the details of that match being on this thread. Seriously, it is nearly impossible to beat an organized team of 4 like that when you only have 4 randoms.
