Finally got into the beta, the games unbearable. It’s basically very similar to Halo 4 but with custom equal starts. I really have tried to be faithful, not been trying to hate on the later games just because 343i was involved but this is practically the worst Halo game I have ever played, I have got to a point where I don’t know to defend 343i any longer. I know some people say it’s like CoD but even if wasn’t then it still is a bad game. I don’t know how 343i were ok with letting this happen. I strongly recommend scrapping the game, start from scratch because if Halo 5 is just as bad as Halo 4 then the franchise is not going to get any better. I know Halo 5 need’s to innovate but it needs to at the least be iconic, at it’s core a Halo style game that is fun.
I really have tried to find something positive about the beta but I can’t find anything, seriously name me 1 good thing about this, I can’t think of anyone that wants to play half way through the game without raging at it. I don’t understand why 343i didn’t seem to listen to many of the fans. I know this seems like a rant but I I’m just major frustrated with 343i at the moment. I know MCC has issues at moment, I understand and I was willing to give them a chance with Halo 4 but it just seems like with Halo 5 they basically trashed anything remotely left of what made Halo a Halo style game. I have fairly all the Halo game, even H4 was sort of ok but H5 is just bad.
Maybe in a year the beta might completely change but at moment I’m having a hard time judging if I want to pre-order, heck the main reason I have even got an X1 is because of Halo, I have been interested in the story since the start and played all the games, all the multiplayer but h5 is just unbearable to play.

I don’t see much hype to be fair. I see a lot of hate for H5 often but people I know mostly were interesting in H5 since H4. I liked to see Odst 2 but the way 343i are going it might be safer if they outsourced to it to someone else like Bungie did with Halo Wars. I have seen some misleading topics trying to make it sound good but the game was just unbearable.
This is game is what Halo is supposed to be. True to the core mechanics while adding new things that don’t break the game. You probably got destroyed because you aren’t good and came here to whine
The game plays nothing like 4, it plays very much like old halos with new mechanics. And Ive played since CE and have hated halo 4 if you want to bring that into question.

Everything. I can’t think of anything good. It was generally bad, I just couldn’t stand playing it any longer for the sake of playing it.

Seriously that’s your excuse?, I remember not being amazing on Halo 2 back on the original Xbox, guess what… I didn’t hate it. Just because someone does bad or good doesn’t make the game better or worse. Maybe you should think before trolling.
Though I don’t like it more than Halo 1,2,3, or even Reach, I say it’s def better than Halo 4. That thing was a abomination. But who knows, it could just still be the new game hype, give it a month or so after the release to get it the final judgement. It’s still a beta phase, they can still nerf/buff alotta things to our liking/complaining. But right now it feels better than Halo 4.
Played about 4 games so far, done OK myself, my teams have been massively negative. But I’m still having a lot of fun with it. I actually think this is the best Halo MP since Halo 3. The new mechanics are needed to bring the game into modern times, but it feels true to Halo, flanking on maps and playing as a controlled team should still allow the best players to outclass the opposition.
I just hope that matchmaking actually works and pairs good players against good players, and new players against new players, then the population will be maintained and everyone can have fun without being destroyed constantly. It’s the total ownage situation that has stopped a lot of my friends from playing. If they were playing new players for a while to get used to the mechanics, they’d definitely stick around for longer.

Well I am glad you like playing as a super soldier and jogging. From what I can gather here, people are being wayyyy too judgemental. The beta just came out and people are whining and saying it’s the worst game ever. I for one can tell this game is better than halo 4 and reach. It may not be what we wanted, but it’s a step in the right direction
