Worst Halo game to date?

Nope.

To be honest I have not even finished H5’s campaign, which is a first in the series for me. I was enjoying warzone but the shine is starting to come off for me now (ever since the group commendations where introduced and player behavior took a turn for the worse). I am hoping Warzone firefight will be fun but I will have to wait and see. All that said I would still rate H5 higher than H4 despite my disappointmint at H5’s campaign.

That’s a result of the entire community screaming for the return of pure, competitive arena gameplay in Halo 5. Now people are complaining it’s too competitive.

OP

Not as bad as ODST. I really didn’t care for that game. I mean it literally had the most boring story of any of them. It also had some pretty outright goofy, silly and shallow characters; with some pretty stilted dialogue. At least Halo 5 had its moments and tries to tell an epic story. We link up, we find this engineer and then we won I guess…
It also didn’t have any multiplayer aside was firefight which was the only good thing about the game.

Reach is again a really pointless game that isn’t about anything from a story perspective. Its basically just you fighting Covenant until you get to play delivery boy to something that isn’t actually the real Cortana BTW. Of Noble Team, only George is an interesting character and hes the first one to die. I had no investment or interest in the rest of the team and that game was billed as being your fireteam. At least Halo 5 did make a point of having your team be an integral part of the game and try to give them their own little thing. The only reason I’d give the campaign any praise or note is for the simply amazing and chilling ambience that get from the soundtrack when its Noble 6 versus the Covenant. But it falls far short of Halo and Halo 2; even Halo 3.

Halo 3. Has some truly appauling dialogue. I mean I still prefer it to 5 (Mr Locke has assured that) and it does have its moments. But theres this weird vision thing with Cortana. You’ve got the Prophet of Truth going from a sinister manipulator to Saturday night cartoon villain. You’ve got the stupid scene with Miranda’s death. You’ve got the Gravemind who again becomes a Saturday morning cartoon villain who is barely comprehensible instead of an eldritch horror. Instead of the Arbiters final revenge being a satisfying moment its essentially an afterthought and the elites presence is kind of underused considering the huge role they had in Halo 2. The plot is just outright confusing at times. How is High Charity able to move? Where did Truths ship go? Plus a lot of the missions are mostly filler (epic set piece battles with tons of vehicles! :D) but there isn’t the great pacing and engaging missions that you have in Halo and Halo 2. Also the Chief is just boring as a protagonist and it really showed the problems of the silent protagonist who lacks any real character. But yeah, thinking back on it, I was really not happy with Halo 3 and I kind of recall the games from 3 to Reach as being little more than grasping attempts to remake Combat Evolved. I mean Reach and 3 in particular have whole missions and environments just lifted from the original game. Theres a fine line between nostalgia and lack of originality.

> Halo 5 has the worst Halo campaign, an Arena built as a shameless and failed attempt to attract a contemptuously disinterested Esports community while unabashedly ignoring the casuals that make up a large and loyal player base, and then there is Warzone which feeds a near endless grind to encourage throwing countless piles of money at a unforgiving RNG.

Basically all this. And it’s particularly insulting to me as a long time lore-fan to see such a horrendous story in a Halo campaign - particularly since it utterly shafts my favorite characters (Blue Team), and completely botched their introduction to the main series. What was 343i thinking?

Halo 4 was the worst.

I just miss having fun in halo like I used to in previous games. I mainly do custom games and forge with friends now. Can’t wait for WarzoneFirefight though, gonna play it with some buddies of mine.

I love this Halo it keeps me interested so I will say no…Just needs some tweaks here and there which are coming…A lot of people keep getting “dragged” in arena so idk…In their eyes Halo 5 is very unforgiving. I think it a great experience. I’m loving it. I recently purchased a lot of new games including The Division and haven’t even played it once…I’ve been hooked on arena’s competitive. Like they seem to be adding the stuff that is asked for. So I am beyond happy as long as they keep catering to the fan’s needs. I like every Halo game. I mean the people who are complaining don’t seem to have anything constructive to say. I won’t say they SUCK…But I will say this it seems they are not good at the game it seems like they lose and throw themselves into the fetal position and beat themselves up about it and blame the game.

I wish armour lockup was still a

-Yoink!- i n gthing despite it being overly annoying and -Yoink!- me and other players off it had it uses against vehicles and protecting yourself from getting spawn killed in custom games where you would spawn in the middle of the map where a whole load of people are just waiting in their gauss hogs and tanks to blow us to bits and piecesor you know ghosts and banshees as well. What the

Then just maybe I would be having some fun while uploading halo vids to my Utube Chinnel

Not even close. Halo 4 was and will probably forever be the worst halo. Multiplayer was a clown fiesta

Couldn’t of said it any better , well actually maybe a little but uh… Yeah … Well said

I think there are aspects of it that are probably the worst to date like the lack of content and entertainment/longevity value.

But it would probably be my second least favorite Halo to date, Halo 4 being the first because it had more issues with implementation and balance.

Both are far from what I enjoyed about H1-HR but what can you do about it?

I won’t say anything about your record so I don’t get banned, but from your statement that you’re hooked on Arena, do you have another account? Because your gametime isn’t all that representative of someone who would be hooked on the game enough to not play anything else.

Anyways, I don’t feel like I suck at Halo 5. I almost always go positive even in the unbalanced games with quitters or overrated teammates. And I’ve had a lot constructive to say about this game. I think a lot of people have.

But either way I wouldn’t blame my current skill level on my enjoyment of the game overall. There are other factors that go into it for me. But that’s just my op

To me that belongs to Halo 4.

I personally dont see why people hated 4 and reach, they’re multiplayer was arguably more fun than this sweaty stuff.

I agree, almost every game I join is a complete sweat match and i can never go in and play a casual game.

And yet you’ve played it…a lot.

Agreed. I really don’t get what all the fuss was about with ‘Halo 4’ having “the worst multiplayer ever” - I feel I had way more fun with it’s combat, maps, and gametypes than I am in ‘Halo 5’.

I personally think its the best since odst
