So what gave you people the idea to completely change the Halo franchise? Before this idiotic game was released, the franchise was focused mainly on campaign and much less on multiplayer. However it seems that things changed once you saw how well COD continues to do; “Hey! Let’s make a game based largely on multiplayer and barely put a campaign in it! Trust me the fans will love it!” While the majority of new fans indeed love the game, you’ve left behind the older, more loyal, fan-base. This “campaign” you offered was ill thought as well as amazingly short. This game, Guardians (i refuse to call this game Halo), lacks in many areas. The graphics aren’t too good, especially from a distance. From a distance they look rather awful! The gameplay in the “campaign” even experiences this issue! In multiplayer, though, it’s much worse. Just how much did you sacrifice to achieve “60fps”? I knew you sacrificed split screen, horrid mistake on your part as usual, but i didn’t know you downed the graphics as well. While this may just be my game alone, it has ruined the experience for me. Heck, the “water” on the Valhalla remake on Guardians’ multiplayer isn’t even water! It’s literally like you’re walking on glass above water! Ah, i also forgot to mention the idiotic fireteams that are at our disposal during the campaign. Let’s be honest, they’re about as useful as an ostrich driving a car. They die extremely quickly and are nothing more than a chore that gets in the way of things.
Onto REQ packs; was this to get even more money out of your already horrid game? The implementation of REQ packs practically makes the game Pay-To-Win. A player could just keep buying REQ packs until he/she gets what they want and then they keep using it until they’ve run out. Then they buy more! Almost everyone i’ve played with has spammed the vehicle Ghost Ultra or some type of Ghost of the sort. Not to mention the amount of beefy Phaetons in the air. This is yet another reason why Guardian’s multiplayer is awful! The game isn’t balanced at all anymore
And the list keeps adding up! The new Infection mode that was added to the game is the worst one yet! How could you have downgrade from HALO 4’s rather amazing flood infection mode?! It seems as if you gave us Guardian’s Infection mode simply to placate the complaining people. It even seems as if no thought was put forth. The infected are all green with NO SPRINT, a useless jump boost, slightly faster movement which grants nothing, and “invisibility” if one could even call it that when a green aura surrounds you at all times. This is a very obvious downgrade from HALO 4’s Infection mode.
I recognize that i may well be the minority in this situation, but i will not be buying the next of this ruined franchise. If more attention was payed to the campaign, i’d have been happier and more complacent. I realize that i do not require support, but this is the only way, that i found through my short search, to express my displeasure in wasting $60 on an unfinished game. All-in-all, Bungie should’ve kept the rights.
-Sincerely,
A sad, forgotten ex-fan
