It was fun for like 3 games. It took 8 to finish the challenges.
‘The rewards are absolutely awful’ is a perfect example of an OPINION.
In my OPINION - they’re doing much better with rewards this time - we don’t have an emblem split up into THREE tiers of a 10 tier pass.
Let’s recognize how simple these challenges are compared to normal weekly challenges, and the improvements to the pass rewards for the W that they are.

Not even going to try it, I already hate one flag games and now it’s an even more campy version of it? At least the reward is something I am not interested in as charms on the weapons are distracting and I don’t use them. No thanks… Loading up MCC.

They also put behemoth in the map rotation for it
You know the one map that either ended in ties or extremely dragged out matches for regular ctf matches to the point where people wanted 343 to remove it from the rotation

I absolutely HATE ctf, it’s one of my least liked pvp modes in any game. And one flag is the absolute worst… that being said, this mode is surprisingly fun. I really thought I’d hate it, but it’s pretty interesting and fun actually. I got through 8 of the challenges in 3 games, and got my buddie 8 of them in 2 games on his account. it is super simple and quick. Honestly, I can’t complain about this one. I mean most of the challenges are get score and sidekick kills, which is easily doable by just playing it

It’s not even One Flag that’s the issue, but those garbage loadouts… And you can’t even pick up stuff from killed oponents lmao. Thank god I had some swaps left, I cannot imagine myself going through “win 10 matches” challenge.
But yeah, modes like this one, Shotty Snipers, Rumble Pit, Team Tactical etc. those trash modes are the reason we can’t have a normal FFA, normal TDM, normal Domination, normal CTF etc. playlists, 343 is a joke and I sincerely hope everyone involved into Infinite’s playlists got fired as per today’s news.
I thought it was fun. I did complete it pretty quickly. The JFO helmet alone is well worth the game mode. I’m glad it was easy so if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t have to play it all week.
An Infection Event playlist with the Pilot helmet & the Haunted Helmet variation along with it, that would be a dream

Some rounds are better than others. I just had a really fun round, but I’m sure the other team hated it. It also means I just finished my challenges so I probably won’t play it again. We’ll see.
As an event goes you would think it would last longer than 5 games. Even a free event. But thankfully as it was on some playlist that the apprentice made on forge. I was grateful it was over quickly.
I love covert one flag. It’s truly different. Only way to make it better is if it was Spartans versus elites. Yes, invasion style from Halo Reach.

This would no doubt be the least populated list if it wasn’t required for the event. It will still probably be the least populated list during week 2 of the event. (It was last time.)

I find the event to be pretty terrible. It is more fun to play with a full team I’ll admit, but still. I actually do like 1 flag mode but not this. The fact that the plasma rifle is a weapon, is also terrible. It’s bloody bad!! The commando/sword combo is SO much better then pistol/PR combo. I don’t care if you have invis.
Also, the rewards for this event are pretty damn weak!
So far these time exclusive events (which they said they wouldn’t have…
) Are all pretty bad I feel. Just have daily, weekly AND monthly challenges and make those monthly challenges worth it and HARD!
Sure, do your Christmas, Halloween, heck even Valentine’s Day type theme events still, but that’s it. These other ones are just a waste I think.
Side note, Is there a ranked team Slayer playlist yet? You know, one of the most popular playlists in Halo history! No? Well that makes sense right What a joke!!! what a mess this game is… 
Terrible decisions across the board with this game.
Struggled my way through it. It’s just such a terrible mode. Also: Commando and plasma thingy suck so that makes it even worse for me.
But the worst thing is we haven’t yet had a single event that is, you know, an event. Every time it is just a normal mode being put on top of the list with some challenges tied to it. They’re not fun. They’re more of the same which is killing for a game that already is…you know…not that fun because it’s way too competitive.
Why don’t we get themed maps for them? Snowy versions of maps etc. Why not give us a Halo version of Fall Guys for a week? Halo Kart? Tower of Power or God forbid… Infection? Super Fiesta? Castle Wars? Whatever. Anything that is just meant to be fun and isn’t in the normal rotation of modes. On new Forge maps. Something that is at it’s core non competitive for once.
I like the mode. The rewards are rubbish.
