I can’t believe how terrible the community is for this franchise. People are totally going ape-^&$* over a single article and are looking at concepts some of which are outdated completely out of context. They haven’t seen any gameplay and they’re making ridiculous assertions.
For example Spartan Ops is not a rip of Spec Ops. The word Ops is simply a shortened version of operations and putting Spartan before it is extremely logical. Furthermore Spartan Ops is largely story based while Spec Ops isn’t.
For the people screaming and crying I hope you don’t buy the game. If this is how much faith you have and the reaction you have based off so few details I honestly think this community would be much better off without you.
And to the people who are simply put off by these details and are leaning towards not getting it THAT is okay. Having an opinion is okay. Just don’t be the person who claims the sky is falling.

This is the type of thing I just don’t understand. Do you want stagnation? Do you want the series to stay as it is and not change? Do you just want Halo 2 or 3 HD?
The series has to change going forward. The core concepts are still there though this isn’t Call of Duty. If 343 didn’t take a single thing from COD and other modern shooters going forward I’d be terribly disappointed. Games feed off each other. Regenerative health was a thing that people latched onto and Halo 2 popularized it. Halo 4 shouldn’t exist in a bloody vacuum it should take the good things from the games around it and get better.

halo IS a GAME. It will BE whatever 343 makes it. Realize part of what you remember of halo CE - 3 is nostalgia. I can almost garauntee you did not like EVERY aspect of EVERY game from halo CE to halo 3

The community is simply confused and afraid that Halo will change into something like Call of Duty. Every member in the forums has the right to be afraid/defensive. I mean nobody wants the game to become like a sci-fic version of Call of Duty. They want Halo 4 to have the same alien /beautiful style that it had in the first 3 Halo games. I believe 343i is changing it, but for the better good.

I’m pretty sure the community seems so horrible because all of the decent and understanding people left the forums in the middle of the reach-forum epidemic. We’re still here, we’re just in the shadows. waiting. For we are the heros halo deserves. Not the heros halo needs.

I have been playing Halo since 2002 and am really excited to see Campaign, SpartanOPS, and the way MM works.
The ONLY thing I am concerned about is how Sprint will be used, if I have to click the left stick to sprint then I will be unhappy.

Don’t worry, the entire community isn’t terrible. As always the cries of the upset and angry few are louder than the compliments or support support of the masses.
People don’t post to agree they post to disagree, and voice dissatisfaction.
