What does this mean? It’s weird because in the opening cut scene for Halo 5 (Locke) the covenant are witnessed fighting against the Prometheans/forerunners, kinda like a 3 way battle. We know in halo 4 the covenant faction featured worships the forerunners but in the opening cut scene for halo 5 they don’t? Could this be agent Locke’s team in the beginning fighting another faction of the covenant, the Arbiter’s perhaps (only faction we know are against prometheans/forerunners)? We know later on that the Swords of Sanghelios (dismiss spelling) has an alliance with Osiris, but in the beginning of halo 5 they might not. Maybe they are fighting each other (Locke vs Arbiter side) because the Arbiter knows Master Chief is being hunted by agent Locke and wants to prevent that (Chief and Arbiter were "friends’ in a way), but later in the story the Arbiter joins Locke’s side for some reason (maybe he agrees that the master chief should stop setting of these “machines”). I’m starting to think there probably is something going on with chief, mentally speaking. We saw his hands trembling in blue team’s opening scene. Maybe the absence of Cortana in his head to keep him in check, who knows? Idk, i’m just speculating here, but what do you guys think?
I’m not sure the shaking of his hand was intentional or just because it was from pre-release stuff with a bit of shadow-shakiness. It didn’t have the same polish on it that the Osiris video had (Axis provided CG work for that), so I’m guessing we won’t be seeing that shaking in the final game.
oh and i got this wrong, when Osiris drops in to fight covenant in the beginning. They get Intel from command that it is the faction that worships forerunners and have Halsey captured. But maybe, just maybe, command might be lying to Osiris so the UNSC/ONI can put a blow into the Arbiter’s forces based on my previous theory. They might later realize this and come to terms with the Arbiter. That might be why in the E3 trailer (i think) Locke is on the Arbiter’s ship and it opens up with an Elite saying “I don not trust you” to Locke. Just speculation but maybe Osiris or Locke have gone rogue, after finding some truth about the Master Chief and his supposed “wrongdoings”.
But at the same time laskey is also giving the briefing before Osiris drops into battle and he’s a good guy, maybe on Chief’s side but who knows?
If I nail this on the head I deserve some money and Bungie needs to recruit me based on my elite observation skills. So lets break it down Master chiefs sole purpose is to protect humanity. And after watching the season portraying Spartan locke we all see he is a genuine and true good hearted man. Pay close attention here!! Team osiris CANNOT compete with blue team. You younger generation of gamers need to understand this, we are talking about a full team of spartan 2’s here and not just that but master chief and master tactician. Spartan Locke was chosen because he knows how to follow orders precisely and master chief does not have time for his BS he has a mission to accomplish. as the game continues Locke will begin to realize that the chief is true to his word and doing what he can to protect humanity going against ONI because ONI is the true crew thats gone rogue. and the teams will merge together. heres where it gets good in the end there will be a very very emotional point during a batlle and master chief will pass his responsibility off to spartan locke. 343 has to get there fans detatched from master chief so the chief will sacrifice himself for the survival of both teams because he has nothing else to live for. Cortana is gone he has no family and he is getting older. 343 cant make another halo 6 with master chief at 60 years old still wiping out planets. and master chief will leave the series with a bang ag going out as the best spartan to ever live. then a new story will develop with locke as the new face of halo. We cant excpect team osisirs to stand toe to toe with blue team its unrealistic and we cant expect a halo 6 with a 70 year old chief or retire with a fishing pole in his hand drinking a beer at a pond. But 343 has to allow the true fans to detatch from john 117 and the right way!! leaving the way he came in the best of the best… This observation was based on the statue of chief and locke from the collectors edition it has 3 distinct ways to orientate it with one being them fighting side by side. Be ready true fans!!! and remember " most of all do not underestimate him "
