Worries About Aiming

A bandaid with a hole in it; hence, ineffective at best.

I agree I play both close range br or pistol yup but anything literally anything else kbm is a wash. Most all halo pros and players do use controller. I think aim assist needs a bump. Just like any other cod or apex it’s always an issue. Kbm will complain ect. But right now it isn’t fair not even close we need to know. If they won’t change it everyone it’s time to ditch that controller. Hope they don’t gloss over it. Just tell us controller mains to frig off and we will.

It doesn’t help when there seems to be some server lag / registry issues. Ive had plenty of shots dead on that did not in fact register.

I feel for you controller users. MnK players like myself do not have nearly as much problem, and yet they still want the aim assist reduced / removed. Its BS honestly. I want my controller friends to have fun and play too. If you want to prove how good you are on MnK play in competitive with only MnK players… dont remove AA.

Already gave up on the game. I’m not so much sure it’s the aim assist thing. The controls themselves are just horrid. I have never played a shooter where I had to spend 30+ minutes trying to fine tune controls/aiming until playing halo 5 and halo infinite. If they’re going the less assisted aim route, fine just make it so you can smoothly track people with the controls rather than this spotty garbage.

I have never had control problems with games like battlefield, destiny, previous halos, or any other shooter I can think of until playing 343s halo titles. They have made the controls and aiming system so overly complex that its going to hinder the game rather than help it.

The aiming is the exact same as the first flight - crap. Must be because of the broader player base and not the top 10% fans of “343 can do no wrong”. Aim assist needs to be adjusted… if not, please at least add the option to exclude keyboard input players.

> > I don’t remember having nearly as much a problem the first flight with aiming. To me, the Sidekick felt awesome in flight 1 – and in flight 2 I’m opting to not use it nearly as often. It felt like the aim assist was reduced (perhaps even more?) this time around. I hope it gets addressed as well, and at the very least I agree that matchmaking should allow users to match with others on the same platforms.

I remember last flight doing well against bots, and then getting stomped against players because I just couldn’t hit them with the commando or pistol.

Someone posted this in a separate thread, it looks like there is zero aim assist for console users depending on the weapon used. Halo Infinite's Aim Assist is non-existent - YouTube

Also good point on PvP matches making it all more noticeable.

Not true absolute bs coming out your mouth…

I really feel this. I have no issues tracking and have always been above average on FPS (50 in every playlist in H3), Masters in Apex etc. with no issues aiming. Aiming was always something I found easier. I really can’t say the same in this game. I play on controller on PC and it just feels like AA is non existent when someone starts strafing.
I have tried KbM also and let me tell you, it is just much easier.
Tonight is my first experience of Halo Flight as I have been away all weekend and I am bored already of AR only games :frowning:

Seriously, I’m just buying a M&K since playing on controller is barely viable in this game against M&K folks. All they need to do is make AA and magnetism for controller a bit better since being accurate against unpredictable moving targets using a thumbstick WITHOUT any of those things is painful.

Why are you so immature? Plenty of people have stated the fixes I stated helped them, but sure go off. You are almost always about negativity on these forums.

No You’re wrong I’ve played with every single aiming setting so far I even went on YouTube to find the best team setting from a guy who knows everything about dead zones and acceleration and for you to say that the aiming is been fixed because you change your dead zones is absolutely nonsense there is a huge aiming issue throughout the entire game on every input and it needs to be addressed you’re not qualified for this to be because you obviously don’t do enough research and you obviously haven’t played enough of the OG trilogy to know that the aiming is not nearly as buttery smooth as those I surely don’t want another halo five on my hands with battingI surely don’t want another halo five on my hands with bad aim mechanics because that ruined halo five for a lot of people….You guys are over here saying it’s fine because it feels a little bit better that’s not good enough you’re not giving a good comparison to what halo same used to feel like and that’s the truth…

I don’t think that’s true either M and K has been saying that they’re having a big problem as well it’s on every input for the game so people need to stop saying that

All good = feels like previous halo games. There’s absolutely no way you think aiming feels like h2/h3/h4/reach after adjusting the deadzones. It feels better, yes, but it doesn’t feel like halo.

Perfectly said. Even after adjusting settings, you can tell that the underlying systems just aren’t working right, or at the very least feel a bit off.

I’m playin on pc with an xbox controller. No problem for me

Only issues I’ve been having is turning around fast enough to get someone trying to hit a blind spot that my radar picked up. I feel like cutting the sensitivity at 5 is a bit weird but I was fine either way. Maybe it’s just because I’m not a big PvP player, I dunno, but I can’t say I share anyone’s complaints with controller aiming (I played with controller on PC for the flight since I couldn’t aim with a mouse and keyboard in my current setup to save my life.).

After adjusting the aiming does feel like it for me. Weird how others are telling me what I feel is wrong.

I was wondering if I was going crazy about the controller feeling off. I see I’m not the only one. I typically play fine in most games, but aim seems exceedingly difficult at times compared to most other Halo games or shooters. I am by no means a pro, and I have played most shooters on my PC with MNK. However due to a hand injury a couple years ago, I can no longer do that so Controller has been my only option. AA doesn’t need to be massive, but it definitely could be raised a bit for sure, because I’ve adjusted all kinds of settings for dead zones and at this point it seems to be an AA issue.

Honestly, it felt a little off to me at the start but after playing for these few days it seems like I’ve somehow gotten worse? I just keep getting absolutely wrecked by people with laser sidekicks and can’t win a fight. At this point I don’t know if it’s because I suck or if it has to do with the aim.

It’s because the sidekick is a monster in the hands of a decent M&K player. People got more practice, so they are having an easier time clicking heads super quick with the sidekick. Imagine how bad the gap between controller and M&K will be with a solid month of play time under peoples belts.

Yeahhhh this wouldn’t be a fun experience :frowning:
