Is anyone else worried that these launch day issues are going to affect the game’s population and thereby it’s lifespan? I want to be playing this a few months from now, but having issues like this at launch is worrying me that it won’t last. Thoughts?

Bad launches can have huge repercussions on online population - see; GTA 5.
The game works though, and I imagine the matchmaking will be fixed in the next 24 hours max.
Should be nothing to worry about.

Very unlikely…They need at least a full week to straighten out major bugs if they make good progress with troubleshooting.
I don’t have GTAV - It had issues at launch? And what’s this driverclub game launch I keep hearing horror stories about? I just picked up my XBox One for Halo: MCC, so I don’t know.
If this was PS4 or PC I would maybe say so, but the Xbox One community is a bit tighter and more niche, anyone who wont stick around after this mess was not going to in the first place.

My god, did it ever. I almost forgot, considering GTA online was actually pretty bad and I haven’t played it in almost a year.
I frequented the GTA V gamefaqs forums when that whole debacle was going on, and these forums are almost identical.
“OMG I CANT GET ON”
“wtf are u guys talking about I can get on just fine”
“I WANT REFUND”
“ITS NOT THEIR FAULT ITS MICROSOFT”
“This is awful practice for AAA developers”
“ROCKSTAR IS GOOD GUYS DONT HATE”
Memories…

GTAV was a colossal nightmare. It took a week to be able to play it, then there were glitches, exploits, and bugs for the next three months. Expect the MCC to be similar. I was lucky, and got into GTAV online three days after launch, but it was really bad. Rockstar has finally finished patching it, a year later. That won’t do for the MCC, which 343 has slated for a lifespan of one year, with Halo 5 due out next year. Every hour that they lose to the broken multiplayer isn’t good news. Even good multiplayer games have a tough time with population sustainability, so yeah. This is scary.
Yeah i agree with one of the guys above, i think the true fans will stay but the rest will disappear just as they would of either way. this is xbox not psn after all
