Working out a better booting system

Ok, I’m trying to get a better boot system in H4, because, lets face it, reach’s system was awful.

So what do you guys think of this:

When a player commits an offense such as betraying a team mate (or committing suicide enough, or standing idle for long enough, etc.) the other players (only on the same team) are given the option to boot the offender (using the back button scorecard menu). If the majority of the team mates vote, the offender is kicked.

Throw out some pros, cons, and improvements.

I think that it should be a static 2 betrays to get the kick option.

I think the 2 betrays should be option to boot, being idle for to long should be an option to boot if they are idle after maybe 2 games if it auto connects you.

Only problem with that is usually there’s a time limit to it, and not everyone is gonna vote to boot him since they don’t care so you have to see that annoying warning until the timer runs out in where he can be his trolliest to someone who already voted.

I think a better system would be a three strikes your out system where if a player commits 3 acts of betrayal he’s automatically kicked out. That way even if someone’s gonna troll and betray he’ll only do it twice to save himself the boot. But again this system isn’t perfect in any way shape or form

Vote to boot is a terrible idea, because then trolls could vote you off for no reason whatsoever.

I think the standard 2 betrays youre gone works well. I also think if you don’t betray often you should get more (as a hedge against accidents) and if you constantly betray you should only get one. If you’re really bad it shouldn’t even give the betrayed the option, you should be automatically gone.

I would like an additional option to instantly kill the betrayer instead.

Thats just it though, with this system you actually have to commit an offense (betrayal, suicide)for the “trolls” to be able to vote on you in that game.

unfortunately there’s no such thing as a perfect booting system… but i think the best way would be a default 2 betrays for the boot option, then if you betray often make it once and if you rarely betray make it 3. but again, it’s not perfect

The booting system is so gay unless you make someone betray you then boot them xD.

I agree, we need a better boot system. My idea is:

1st betray - Warning
2nd betray - Kills the betrayer (and counts as suicide to increase the spawn time further)

3rd betray - Kicks the player.

If not that, then giving the betrayed the option to kill/kick the betrayer?

how about:

after 3 betrayals, the victims -and only the victims- vote on whether to boot the offender?

The only 2 improvements I would implement onto your idea are instead of the two betrayals have it be a set amount of damage to teammates for the boot. This would be more efficient in my opinion because then it would effectively eliminate the people who grief (shoot teammates but do not kill). Also, if someone commits suicide 2-3 times teammates should be able to boot them.

This is the best idea I’ve seen yet.
