Workaround to disable cross-play for console players

So while I understand this will split the player base, I genuinely think It is unreasonable to force players to play with Hackers/Cheaters. While it’s only currently a small issue for now, it is still frustrating for some players.

So until there is a fix for the cheating currently taking place in MP, try this:
Go to Settings on your Xbox Console,

Account
Privacy and Online Safety
Xbox Privacy
Check “Customise” box
Press on View Details & Customise
Communication and Multiplayer
Change the option that says “You can play cross-network play” to BLOCK.
This may slightly hinder search times slightly, but you will no longer have to play crossplay.

This post does not stand to say that “ALL PC players” are cheating, we know it’s only a small minority that in fact are. But this is just a quick solution to combat that. No disrespect intended.

Does not work as all PC players also use the Xbox services, so, play on the same network.

I have this setting disabled because of Battlefield 2042. Did a quick check yesterday in Halo after we got dominated by one player who had 2.5x more kills as the best one in our team.

So, we were 3 Xbox players out of 8… Means, there is no way to avoid playing against PC, you can only use ranked to avoid playing again M&K.

That is very odd, I was unaware of this. Are you able to explain to me though why if I block this feature I am unable to join my friends on steam?

Sorry, no idea… I did disable the multi-network option, not any of the other… But with multi-player disabled you definitely have PC players in your lobby.

Ok, thanks for the heads up

Unfortunately this doesn’t work. This feature does work on games like battlefield/CoD but for some reason on halo I still get matched with people on PC. This may be due to the fact pc users use the Xbox app to be able to access halo infinite but other games use independent services to connect.

Thanks for the heads up dude. Unfortunately, as others have said, it doesn’t work.

These clowns at 343 are going to leave cross play on as well. You just know that they prioritise fast matchmaking over all. So you can guarantee that cross play will stay and they won’t implement a region filter either. No yoinks given about match quality, matchmaking speed only
