Wondering about Montages

Hello everyone!

After seeing the Halo 4 montage titled “Telepathy,” by Phurion, I have been rather interested in how I can make my own montages. It was an awesome video, and I definitely want to dip my feet into this medium.

However, I am at a complete loss as to what materials that would be necessary, or if I need any previous experience. Because I have absolutely no acquaintance with editing, placing in music, or anything. On one note though, I do know how to work Theater, at least in Halo 4, which where I want to start off my montages.

Since I haven’t been exposed to this intensively, is this something I should even be trying? I would love some feedback on what I would need, and basically any information.

If you want to make a montage of your videos, you fist need to buy a game recorder so you can upload them to your computer and put them together in an editing program. I use the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro, which comes with an editing software. It’s very simple to use if you’re new at making videos.

As far as what you have in your file browser in theater, you would still need a capturing system to record the videos you made from theater to your computer.
