I just had a Slayer game where the score was 49-49 and then two guys traded with simultaneous beatdown making the score 50-50 and then we won 50-50 as end result.
Shouldn’t that game been a draw?

I guess your team happened to get the final kill a split second earlier. I’ve seen matches end with 51 kills for one team as well so I think it works like that. The two last kills were so close together that they both counted towards the score.

I’ve won 2 games 51 to 49 in my life of playing Halo 5. I think we even got 1002 in warzone once(First to 1000 wins).
I think Red Team is actually prioritized in those cases.

I believe so. It’s been that way on multiple Halo titles in the past as well.
