Every gold player I’ve met I’ve literally played circles around them.
They actually just posted an update that touched on this.
They tweaked the ranking. What I got from the post was that the average player was getting better, so they basically just made the ranking harder.
Basically, March Gold is better than February Gold.
ranking is ridiculous this season. I was Diamond last season now Im Gold. As you’d expect i’ve been steamrolling.
Depends on wich ranks you beat I think.
I went 7 wins of 10 with a K/D of 1.5
Silver 6
I was expecting at least a high platinum with how good I was playing. Every game we lost I went like 20 and 8

I was a platinum 2 last season but I didn’t play much. Just enough to get ranked

Last season I had the same winning streak except with a little lower k/d and I got bronze. I was bronze the season before as I don’t play arena much, so it might also look into what you were before when placing.

yeah the game is getting harder no doubt. I just had an 8 game losing streak across playlists in Arena and haven’t won a game of FFA. Not too mention my KD in Slayer is below 1.0 currently.

I’m not really complaining, its fun to get paired with Golds lol but I just would enjoy playing with people who are closer to my skill level so I can continue growing as a player.

Gold this season is probably better than Gold last season, the ranking system has been tweaked.
same thing happened to me. I didn’t place in January or February season at all. on release of halo i had a onyx in swat (which apparently was a glitch?). had like a 1.7 k/d and a 7/10 win ratio. went to gold 6. friend who i played all 10 games with and I outperformed went to diamond 1, dunno man. Also just ranked in FFA… went to diamond 5. Won 7/10 games i think with a 1.4 k/d. checked the people i was playing and i beat champions and high onyx players… guess most of the ranking depends on the previous season, and i sure as hell am not willing to grind swat up to a diamond/onyx this season just so i can rank higher next season. FFA, maybe, but FFA is stressful on me lol.

I know what you mean, nobody wants to admit it, but a big part of winning in FFA is being in the right place at the right time lol. I don’t like the pace of FFA so I generally stay away from it unless I’m bored of everything else.
Honestly OP, who cares? I was Gold last month and I’m Silver 3 this month… I’ve already ranked up to Silver 5… so obviously I’m on my way back up… which feels much more rewarding than just sitting stagnant at Gold all month. If you’re good enough to be Platinum… then just keep running circles around the Gold’s you are playing against and you will Rank up… what does it matter where you placed?
I won 9/10 of my matches and was the top player on my team every single time. I got ranked silver 6.
Ranking it this game is really broken, I was 1805 in FFA went on vacation for a week, came back and won by a Huge lead but i dropped to 1750 then won the next match as well dropped to 1725 totally got Haloed.
