Is this really a task that normal people can think of? I’d rather play 20 games instead of winning 17!
Thank you for your reply. I spent 4 hours winning 15 games last night and will win this hypocritical reward today

I have to regrettably admit that I’ve given up on this week’s capstone of winning 17 matches.
On the face of it, it doesn’t seem to bad. If I play 30 or so matches, using 50/50 odds, I’d get it, right?
But I’ve been constantly getting objective games where my team is more interested in challenge chasing then actually playing to win.
(Don’t worry, I can see the irony here)
My final straw was respawning on Streets to see the team across the map kill the oddball carrier, and then all sprint away from it! I wanted to scream at my TV!
In the end, I just looked at the emblem and though, is that really worth it? Sure there’s 400xp up for grabs too, but now I can get that by jumping in for 2 games tomorrow.
But I can’t blame them for it, because unless they have a challenge that’s about winning, there’s no incentive to actually win. It doesn’t help that the Daily participation awards don’t offer more for a win, which also promotes AFK.
But now I’m just beating a dead horse, so I’ll leave it at that.
I’m probably a player with a good level. My KD is above 3 in BTB, but I can’t dominate the outcome of the situation. I can only ensure that I have a good time, but it’s very difficult for me to win 17 games
, because most people don’t know the winning goal, they only know RT
Took me 24 games playing quickplay and big team. Understandably people with low win % and game influence could be taking 40+ games to do it.
Rough times, but it was nice to have a challenge focused on winning.
Well it is kind of rough to play a couple of hours to get through all the challenges to unlock a “play an additional 6 hours for this emblem” (counting 6 games an hour with 50% win rate).
I don’t mind a grindy ultimate challenge but then at least make it progress during the entire week, but only unlock when you are done with all your challenges. This should help manage the completability for casual play but also protect the possibility of making it a hard challenge (f.e. 17 wins/5 sprees still feels like an accomplishment if you get it during a week of game time).
Was glad myself that I didn’t fancy the reward because I don’t have the time to play anyway this week.
I think all challenges should be carried out simultaneously, just like the pass task of fate 2. All his tasks are available during the season,
The problem is not winning 17 matches. The problem is unlocking this challenge on a sunday or monday evening when all the previous weekly challenges sucked the life out of you.
A simple solution would be for all the weekly challenges + ultimate challenge to be open all the time. That way completing these challenges would even seem like an exciting challenge istead of a second job you will hate within a month.
Agreed. I felt pretty positive going into it, but a couple hours yesterday, and my entire Sunday afternoon today (NZ) just to get to 9 wins, was pretty disheartening.
I’m having a weird time with this game, as it’s so enjoyable yet frustrating at the same time.
For wins, play ranked. There you know the tems are trying to win.
But I personally dont like win objective to begin with.
Still it isnt that bad as COD(challange wise I mean) yet…
I’m not sure if our connections will mesh together, but if you are still playing. I’m in UK (could party up and help bash out some quickplay wins for you).
I’m playing for about an hour now. Then I’ll be playing again for 1-2 hours in about 8-9 hours from now.
I’ve given up the challenge.
I have a question about the challenge. Do u guys 343 really play halo infinite?
Just win your games what is the problem?
I am normally a BTB player but was literally loosing every game because of no communication and 80% of players just going for kills/challenges instead of completing the objective. I switched to ranked arena last night with a friend with cross play off and am now only 3 wins away.
To your original point if the reward was a cool armor set or shader I’d be completely ok with 17 or even 20 win requirement. However since it’s just a meh nameplate emblem I think it should be like 5 games or just complete 17-20 games.
I cleared this week’s capstone challenge. At first I was weary about it. Since this game is definitely rigging the odds against me when it comes to finding a match of CTF if I have a CTF challenge, why wouldn’t it matchmake me in unbalanced matches, so that it would take 50 games to win 17 matches, instead of the expected 34?
But I was pleasantly surprised to see that the challenge went as expected. It took me two days and a about 30 matches. I don’t know the exact number, but I believe I won a little bit more than I lost while this challenge was on, no funny business. If anything, it’s more likely the matchmaking aided me than it hindered. For the first time ever I got a medal for a running riot (15-kill spree).
Try playing ranked instead. Fewer challenge chasers I think.
Start not giving a pluck about challenges.
I wish I could win 17 games. I lost 12 games in a row yesterday being the #1 player on the losing team. It is so frustrating at this point I’m giving up on Infinite until early next year. the Dsync issues and getting shot from behind walls, and the lag on PC has me not wanting to play right now. I’ll try again in February or March when this is all fixed…hopefully.
Halo community: “Give us skill based XP rewards, like winning matches!”
343: “good idea, here is a challenge where all you have to do is win.”
Halo community: *cries in anger
Me:
That’s very kind of you.
Sadly I work shifts at my hotel, so my play hours are generally 4pm-7pm NZ (3am-6am GMT), between finishing work and getting back to ‘lifing’ in the evening, haha.
A few have mentioned Ranked, maybe i’ll give that a go today.
