I’m an ordinary person, with a life. I sometimes leave matches or stay afk for a couple of minutes. I only leave a couple of times a week. I stayed afk forr a match because I had to do something quickly. Then I got a ban for 22 minutes. I’ve literally afkd for 5- 10 matches. Bans like this should be after leaving 5 matches per 12 hours, and every match with ban worthy activity should add to that.
The new update had a line in the patch notes as follows:
- Implemented stricter idle boot duration period
Looks like 343 is swinging the ban hammer even faster now than being more lenient with it.

Good. It’s simple really only start a game if you know you can finish it. I understand life happens and what not but if you are idle or quitting out so much you get a ban it was well earned. Because yes I have even idled and had a couple of disconnects since launch and have yet to recieve a ban.

Play when you can play, not when you have stuff to do. The banhammer is for the other 3 dudes you leave alone, most often making them lose. If that behavior of yours can’t change, than play only social playlists, where someone else can fill your spot. Easy as that.
And 22mins is nothing
I have similar habits, I haven’t been banned yet, but I guess it’s coming for casual players like us.
The banhammer might be the single worst thing added to this game. Forcing people to be miserable in games they don’t like is not something they should be doing. At the most they should have a ‘cooldown’ period where you can’t join for 5 mins, but anything more is not right.
I was kicked from several Warzone games because of my connection. However, my connection has never been as bad as it has since the update. No lag, playing a game then all of a sudden I am booted from the match. For some backwards -Yoink- reason, this counts as me leaving a game. So, I get kicked from 3 Warzone games and suddenly I am banned from matchmaking.
Great job 343, fix your game.

I used to get banned from waypoint forums for telling people like this dude how stupid they are lol
This is why we need a true social playlist! One playlist for casuals to play when they have a bit of time to fill. And if they leave, no worries, someone else joins.
