Nope not having any fun at all. Today was the first time I’ve played in a week and the game crashed twice in a row and I’m already done. I had over a dozen friends hyped to log on and play on the 15th and they’ve literally almost all quit. My friends that haven’t quit don’t want to play with me because there are no social modes in the game and its all SBMM and I’m too high MMR. I’m just patiently waiting for the campaign and if I don’t like that I’m probably already done with Halo Infinite and I’m writing this 2 days before campaign releases. I gave 343i every benefit of the doubt over the last couple years and they’ve completely lost all equity with me in 3 weeks. And because the game is a live service F2P game with battle passes and seasons and they’re already like 8 months behind schedule on content there’s 0% chance they’re going to have the time/ability to fix anything in this game any time soon. And I have no intention after Halo 5 of sticking around a few years so they can eventually fix the game.
Crashes suck, but the last time it crashed on me I was doing really well in a match.
I can’t give specifics due to early onset CRS, but it was really disappointing.
They had better come on strong with the campaign.
Given the current issues directly impact my fun, only kind of.
No.
Every other match for the past week is slayer. For us non-slayer players this scks. No, I don’t need to “git gud,” idgaf if I get more kills than deaths because it doesn’t matter in objective games. I have to play with randoms. Thus no one sticks together, no one has mics. So slayer s*cks. I’ll suck it up every 3-4 matches but every other and 2x in a row is just ridiculous. We shouldn’t be forced into any one game mode.
Ban system s*cks too. Force me into slayer, force me to stay in matches when 1-2 teammates rage quit or ban me. Then when I inevitably get destroyed rank goes down. But then the game crashes once or twice and I get banned.
Full release in 2 days and this is the state of multiplayer. Unreal.
I have a lot of fun and I am engaged with the game as much as when OW released.
I sank a lot of time in COD MW but since it had no ranked (except of extremly sweaty normal playlists…) it didnt grasp me like OW or Infinite.
The only thing which is ruining my fun a lot to a point where I consider stopping playing are crashes.
No idea what triggers it, but I can crash in 2 games in a row or have no crash for hours. Doesnt matter which mode.
But of course crashing in Ranked is very painfull.
Unlike others I feel that ranked works really well and I am getting mostly balanced matches and feel the sense of competition amd also progress. I like that it considers your personal stats towards ranks since it allows normal people progress and get better and mainly motivate them to keep improving.
Personally, I’d say kinda at best. The cosmetic stuff is annoying but I could still have fun in spite of that; but the bugs, poor acuity, and annoying little overlooked details make this game frustrating more often than fun.
The biggest issues are grenades (which are both too plentiful and too powerful, and make grenade-spam atrocious when combined with the lack of grenade indicators and the fact that they don’t damage allies) and the radar (which is the smallest it’s ever been, both in range and UI size, even though this game needs a large radar more than any other, due to the high speed). Both are extremely demeaning to the fun moments that make Halo great.
Almost as bad is the server tickrate, which is set at an astonishingly low 30 ticks/second. I really hope that will change, but I don’t know if that’s even possible at this point. I don’t think I can continue playing this game if half the fun moments are ruined by getting killed around corners, missed shots still landing and vice versa, melees registering or not registering sporadically, and boarding vehicles randomly not working. All of this, I think, is thanks to the low tick rate. This game needs at least 60 ticks/second and honesty, nothing would make me happier than if they changed it to 120. I don’t understand why this AAA game made by a major studio can’t put in the resources to give the game a high level of accuracy.
Yeah usually I’m having a lot of fun. The playlists need a big update fast, though.
