With the tendency...

The last days this idea arrived to my head…

Do you think that Microsoft will at some point launch a service like Battlefield premium and CoD: Elite?

I think is a very likely, but I’m not sure, and I really don’t know if I will like the Idea.

But if they actually did it. I’m pretty sure, it will be something to do with Halo Waypoint, perhaps something like the Atlas thing they already have for Reach…

Only time knows, I just hope if they actually did. It has really cool things…

Like bigger fileshare, render clips, unlimited pass to new Seasons in Spartans Ops, Atlas, and more-things-I-can’t-think-about…

Of course, the fact that Halo Waypoint already exist, and is almost like the former services, mean that if they actually did something like that will be much better…

What you do think?

They did mention a way to create, track and organize groups. This reminded me immediately of BF3 Battle Log…I am not sure about the Elite stuff. I hope they go in that direction (Battle Log) not a fan of the Premium stuff. I would hate to see Waypoint or any of its services have a price tag on them like that. I was very happy how they worked the upcoming DLC…included in the price of the LE.

Yes, but don’t forgot the Atlas service for Halo Reach, you pay for it…

Still, if they actually do something like that I hope it will be very interesing, and worthy the price. But I’m not sure if I will ever buy it…

But if the service indeed has something like Render Clips… I will pay for it. I don’t have or plan in buying a capture card…

I could see it happening, to be honest. I’ve already heard talk of Season 2 of Spartan Ops being charged for a price. How reliable that is, I do not know.

I think that was the indication but that is very much like DLC. I don’t consider that the same as BF3 Premium or CoD Elite really. I really would like to see any sort of service like that for Halo to be free…as would everybody I suppose…lol

@INoble Dragon I never paid for Atlas. WP users got it for free.

@Link1201 what you do mean with gettin it free for beign a “WP user”(what is that, Waypoint user?)

Windows Phone…I am pretty sure I didn’t pay unless I am becoming senile…

i doubt it

I have no doubt that it’ll remain free. Microsoft keep Halo because it is something that brings them a lot of Xbox 360 sales, I’d say. I’d say the money is just half the reason they’re keeping it.

We’re already paying for the Halo 4 game and Xbox Live membership, if Microsoft charge anymore, that is just greed. Especially because they have billions upon billions.

I sincerely hope that Microsoft doesn’t do this. Call of Duty Elite, while no one HAS to use it, really seems to be a way to keep players engaged while squeezing more money out of them.

If anything, I think 343 and Microsoft could provide something along the lines of COD Elite in terms of stat-tracking and strategy, but for free, and through the Halo Waypoint Xbox app.

EDIT: If they were to do this, they shouldn’t name it “Spartan” anything. Between calling the episodic campaign ‘Spartan Ops’ and the multiplayer currency ‘Spartan Points’ I think 343 is over-stressing the whole “you play as a Spartan IV” thing. If we have anything else with “Spartan” in its name, it would get kind of annoying.

@IDKwhatName2Say

And perhaps there’s much more related between SmartGlass and Halo 4, than just use it as another menu controller…

Though that would be cool, I wouldn’t want something like that to be smartglass exclusive. I don’t know anyone that owns a Windows Phone, and tablets running Windows are near nonexistent, at least from what I’ve seen.

As long as it doesn’t have a price tag. Knowing Microsoft though, it’ll cost 2 sawbucks to look at stats.
