i know halo 3 and 4 wont be getting the halo 2 treatment but with all 4 games running at 60 fps and 1080p do you think they will touch up the textures and sound effects for halo 3 and 4??

For real though, the only things being changed for Halo 3 & Halo 4 is the resolution and frame rate (lets not forget those bloody dedicated servers too!) - there won’t be any other changed in terms of textures and sound effects.

I believe that was a console issue. The 360 couldn’t handle the textures and caused frame rate drops. I believe it will be OK with the Xbox One.
I am glad H3 and H4 are being left as they are and fully supposed 343’s decision here.
It’s the difference between playing the Fable and Halo 1 Anniversary remakes and playing the Final Fantasy X remake.
FFX was exactly the game we remembered, crispier and smoother.
Anniversary and Fable 1 didn’t have that consistency with the original games, so there are issues with how genuine a remake it is.
No problem, I just prefer the way FFX does it if the game doesn’t desperately need a touch up (and Halo 1 and 2 do, make no mistake about that) so I’m all for leaving H3 and 4 as they are, other than a resolution/frame rate improvement.

oh do not get me wrong dude im very happy with what there doing with the mcc, its just im mostly worried about halo 3 due to it going from 30fps and 640p to 60fps 1080p is a big jump and the textures will surely need a bit of adjust?

They’ve been saying a lot that both Halo 3 and Halo 4 still look gorgeous in 1080p. I’m personally excited to see them both.
Hope they make a special forge map for halo 4 or something, and or add phasing and stuff from halo reach to halo 3 and add more objects

I remember when 360 released and I played Halo 2 on it, the game looked a lot better because the 360 could render everything better and had a better resolution.
Expect the same this time with 3/4

At 60fps and on dedicated servers, Halo 3 is gonna feel like a different game. That was the laggiest of the bunch, and the projectile based hit detection will really benefit from 60fps moreso than Halo 2 and Halo 4s hitscan will.
I think the biggest jump in quality will be seen with Halo 3. In terms of game play.
Halo 4 at 1080p/60fps will look super crisp, and we know they had to scale back the engine on 360, I reckon they might push a few things here and there, Frankie said it looks like a next gen game just from the 1080p/60FPS boost.
Genuinely looking forward to playing each game, Halo:CE and 2 making a MP return on lagless 60FPS, Halo 3 will see a massive quality boost, and Halo 4 will be a nice technical showcase (didn’t dig the multiplayer for it though).

I agree 100% with everything you said, the other thing i would like know is if the FOV in Halo 3 is going to change with the resolution increase and if not could they increase the FOV some.

Ah yes, the Halo 3 BR used Projectiles instead of hitscan; I prefer projectiles but it was terrible on Halo 3 due to the net code. Hopefully now that it will be running on dedicated servers the Projectiles will properly work.

I think I prefer the hitscan. Halo 3 is my favourite, but I enjoyed the consistency of Halo 4, just wish the balance was better. I’m looking forward to Halo 3 on dedicated servers just to see the improved reliability of the projectiles lol
I think I remember seeing an interview with Franky, and he said there will be a small boost to Halo 3/4 and some details that were otherwise unnoticed will be more obvious, because of the higher resolution and frame rate. Looking forward to seeing the changes in all the Halo’s

To clarify, Halo 2 won’t be getting Forge, just the Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer (the six remastered maps).
