Witch hunts and directed malice within forums, needs to stop

So I’m kinda dumbstruck at the amount of sheer verbal fistfights, malicious accusations of hacking when players voice a disagreement, and name dropping for ill-intent prompting a witch hunt like mentality being allowed to persist within the forums.

I don’t really know if this type of topic is allowed to exist, but I don’t know where else to raise a concern. The forums are currently not a welcoming place to have a discussion. I know I know, “welcome to the internet, you new here?” Well no, but I’m so used to being in gaming communities (Overwatch, Destiny, CS) and hearing the players acknowledge the toxic tropes within their playerbase (sometimes annoyingly blown out of proportion) in some sort of self identifying manner that I’m kinda shocked to see the Waypoint Forums caricatured to look like some Wild West saloon where someone speaks up and is sucker punched into the nearest piano. It’s the exact opposite of these other communities, nobody bats an eye before kicking another player who’s opinions they disagree with.

There’s no self awareness.

The nasty behavior is just allowed to persist, seldom being shut down. I’m kinda shocked that I’ve gotten away with some of the things I’ve said! Pair that with tons of recurrent and repeat topics drowning out topics that might request fixes or advice, detail bugs or issues that need to be addressed, and other means of discussion that could be held constructively, it’s just kind of a chaotic blob of relatively negative human interaction.

I’m not gonna petition the Mods or 343 to fix this, just opening up a line of dialogue for anyone who might feel the same.
