Im glad they made it tankier and do much more damage than previous iterations. However, past Warthogs were much more versatile and flexible than Infinite’s.
As a really skilled pilot driver for the gunner, Infinite’s warthog cuts off the majority of my driving techniques due to the fact of how heavy it feels. I am unable to drift, make sharp turns, make quick U-turns without slowing down. Its like any quick thinking you make as a driver now is crippling or just no longer possible in every previous Halo game.
Also, why is there no Wingman medal now…
Ya it doesnt have that quick course correction capability that made it such a fun an chaotic element on the map. And the many hard counter emp items only further dampen the fun of the once might HOG.
Timone and pumba got done dirty in infinite.
Even in campaign the terrain practically begs you to grapple or fly because the heavy hog struggles to navigate the hills of zeta halo.
Even the infamous craig demo failed to show the hog as being part of the fun of infinite.
Sad when the slipspace reveal trailer showed us a hog barreling through the biomes of the ring world.
Such a shame this game suffered as it did in dev hell. Greatness was possible.
