just about to start the campaign on legendary so does anyone have any tips that could be helpful?

Auto-Sentry and the Light Rifle are your best friends here.
Explore the levels to make sure you dont miss any power weapons. The last level is really the only big challange but Binary rifles will help

Knights take about 3-4 shots from the Scattershot to die, but it works! Don’t be afraid to run right up to them and shoot point-blank.

Keep your weapons full on ammo, and when you switch between area’s and are dealing with different enemies switch your load out around to make use of what they are dropping.
Never assume that doorway you walk through is NOT going to lock behind you.
Noob combo those elites and knights.
Auto-Sentry is a must whenever you can get your hands on it: It staggers whatever opponent it hits (especially crawlers) and provides a diversion that fights back (unlike hologram). It also has decent charge times and can cover your flank.
Scattershot is a must on the levels that are heavily entrenched with Knights- Midnight in particular is a level where Scattershot is a must-have. Get in close, fire 2-3 shots and melee. Towards the end of Midnight, make sure you have one of the last Knights you fight’s Inc Cannon- you can use it to plow through the last few enemies after him.
Anything else: DMR or LR- really, whatever ranged gun you can get. Always have some sort of utility-ranged weapon at hand.
Another tip: The boltshot is actually very useful against Crawlers. Conserve your more useful guns when you take on Crawlers- kill one that has a boltshot, take its boltshot and finish off the rest of the pack with that via headshots, then collect your other weapon(s).

One on of the last maps were you have access to the banshee, take it, ignore the enemies and just ride right to the end of the map.
If I had to take a guess…
- Take most widely available rifle of the level (Will end up being the Lightrifle towards end of the game)
- Aquire one of the many Plasma Pistols throughout the level ASAP
- Fire said Plasma Pistol
- Quickly switch to chosen rifle
- Zzzzzz
- Aim for the head
- Profit
Additional Information: Skip what you don’t need to actually kill seems to be the general consensus

I got buttraped by checkpoints at least twice,but I managed to solo it.
To quote Eli, noob combo. All the time. At any given time, you need to have a plasma pistol and a precision weapon. (The PP takes down Knight shields as well, I believe).
