After installing the winter update on series X, when I quit the game fully (not quick resume), it doesn’t let me boot up Infinite or any other game again unless I reset my console Options still give me the option to ‘quit’ Infinite but it never works.
I’ve submitted a ticket but they said this:
“Halo Support handles issues like crashes, game save corruption, player reports, visual glitches, and general in-game bugs. Issues like these are unintended by the developers and can be fixed by repairing the game’s programming.”
I’m not even sure what I’m supposed to do with that last sentence.
Ooof, that’s no fun. It was already lame when leaving the game in sleep mode would cause it to crash, so you always needed to exit completely (unlike every other game on Xbox).
And yeah, lol at “Issues like these are unintended by the developers and can be fixed by repairing the game’s programming.” Like, are they really expecting you to do something about this? It’s a true statement that it’s “unintended by the developers” and it “can be fixed by repairing the game’s programming,” but a player certainly can’t fix the programming. Unless that’s a job offer?
Same here on series x. It hangs in the start screen. After quiting the game in the dashboard, all other games hang in the startscreen. After reboot they work again
Same here, really frustrating. I can’t even play campaign since the winter update as it seems to get caught up trying to contact dedicated servers. I’ve honestly loved halo infinite but it’s getting hard to defend at this stage.
Apperantly if your part of the insider program it seems to be conflicting with the update.
Work around are avoid Playing the game or un join the Insider program for that console which needs a restart after unjoining ad will have you go through the set up again without deleting games and progress
I have the same issue and it’s affecting all other games on my series X. Sometimes it decides to work after a couple of restarts but then the game will just crash and when I close it I can’t open any other games or apps.
I’ll try the fixes that other people have suggested and hopefully that will work
You would think that the updates would of been fully tested across all platforms, with each update comes more problems and more bugs and more dissatisfaction amongst the community, hopefully they address it quickly
I think the biggest misstake was to support many platforms, thats why Halo Inifinite is such a mess, and many other modern games also. The game also has to run on the old Xbox, haha.
