Anyone know what the wing looking things are on the back of the recon armor chest piece and other armors?
Is it the jet pack?
They all look like Thruster packs/Jetpacks.
Nope. Each spartan armor has it. It’s a zero-g truster pack to allow Spartan to move when in space most notably.
I could’ve sworn those were the energy sources for the armor aswell.

If Mjolnir MK. IV and MK. V didn’t have an obvious power source then why would MK. VI have an obvious one?
Same with later iterations.

Actually Mark IV and Mark V DID have that. It’s been on every set of Halo armour since Halo CE, it just looks more obvious now:
On Master Chief in Halo CE (note that it sticks up above to his shoulders)
On Mark IV armour in Halo Wars/The Halo Novel Covers.
They’ve always been there. It just seems to stick out and be more defined now.

Yes Recon armor has mechanical mini wings.
Reminds me of Achilles or some other Greek god.
Edit: Never mind, I thought you were talking about the symbols on the side of the helmet.
