So I got a good deal on Halo 2 Vista, and my PC has more than enough of the specs to run the game. I started out getting like 5-15 Frames Per Seconds both Online and in Campaign. Did some research, and read that if I limited my FPS to 30, the game would run smoother. It helped a little bit, maybe by 5 frames only

I then found a post about an application called H2V XLiveLess. It takes away the Windows Live feature, and once I used it, the game ran in silky smooth 30 FPS with no problems. I believe that the Windows Live Client on the top causes the game to lag immensely.
Now my question to you: Is there any way to take away the small client on top, while still being able to play online? Any insight on this subject would be much appreciated, as I would love to get my Campaign Achievements 
I may as well post specs, because people end up asking anyways (:

If you want to play online (to the best of my knowledge), you can’t get rid of iit.
Thats sad… I go into an online match and everyone is no-scoping me like it’s on console, I’m sure they don’t have low FPS like I do… if GFWL is causing it I don’t see how others can use GFWL and not get low FPS… I can handle the lag in campaign because it’s easy but online I ejnoy winning…

Vista itself is a poor OS, it eats your RAM up a lot, meaning less goes to make Halo 2 Vista run smoother, but it may just be your hardware in general, H2V runs fantastic on Windows 7, I advise if you can, upgrade to that soon.

No, it’s just the opposite. Also, about the no-scoping, it’s a PC game those no-scoping players just use a keyboard and mouse which it makes it ridiculously easy. I know I do it all the time, with auto-aim off.
The fact wasn’t that theyre using a keyboard to no scope me lol. Sorry, bad wording on my part. I meant theres no possible way they could be doing that if they’re playing on 10 FPS like me. I’m personally not a fan of Windows 7, I have it on my laptop, wouldn’t recommend it ;p

There’s your problem. Most laptops aren’t very good for games. Even older games such as Halo 2. I have a desktop PC that has Windows 7 and Halo 2 runs flawlessly, except for the jittery vehicle bug, but that is a bug in the game not my PC.
However, Windows 7 is a step up from Vista.
