Since forge is launching for Windows 10 with the ability to do custom games, I’m curious how this is going to feel playing with keyboard and mouse. As you are all aware, the aiming in Halo 5 is highly debatable. I’m sure everyone understands at this point that in order to compensate for the inaccuracy while using a controller, developers add things like aim assist and bullet magnetism to help out the players. With that in mind, does anyone know if this a straight engine port to the pc with the aim assist as is, or will they being removing all those things since players will have the ability to play using the keyboard and mouse?
Wait you’ll be able to play Halo 5 Guardians on PC? I thought it was just a forge creator.

Just Forge and Custom Games…

They said something along the line of “you can test your custom maps with your friends” so yeah pretty sure that means you can do custom games on PC.

Yes it is confirmed you will be able to play custom games. They are releasing a halo app that will even help you find hosted custom halo games. Pretty exciting stuff. However, I’ve not come across anything discussing the pc controls and support for mouse/keyboard. I’m sure it goes without saying that we can play the controller, but I want to know what the aiming will be like with mouse and keyboard.
I’m surprised there isn’t much interest in this post. This is a big deal considering the fact that this is the first Halo game to be playable on PC since Halo 2 Vista. Yes I know there is a Russian Halo game floating around, but I don’t think that counts.
I don’t like the sound of Halo 5 going to PC for multiplayer . . .whether it be customs or MM. If they make Halo 5 for PC as the Full game, the console population will die . . . Could you imagine Cross network play? Mouse vs analog? Cringes

I think we can all agree that nobody is advocating Controller vs Mouse and Keyboard. The only game I’m aware of that had such cross platform was a game called Shadowrun for the xbox 360. I would play on the console while my friend was playing on pc. It was executed great, but there was a huge advantage for pc players. Xbox is supposed to be supporting mouse and keyboard for the console, but they haven’t speculated on whether it would be for use in games. With the Scorpio console coming up and the fact that they’ve stated they are making games on pc for Windows 10, I think it would only make sense to open up the market for console and pc gamers to play against one another using mouse and keyboard. This opens up a pandora’s box for speculation and concerns which are all valid at this point. I just find it interesting to see where console gaming will end up.
You can also use your controller for PC too. I’ve played FPS on PC a lot of times like Crysis or Planetside 2, but never have I played Halo on PC but I imagine playing would be the same. As for Forge, I think it would feel the same as using a controller. Your WASD keys being control forward, left, backwards, right and your mouse basically points the direction.

Sure you can play any FPS on PC with a Xbox controller, but I swear you’ll get destroyed playing any competitive FPS like CS:GO with Controller VS Mouse + Keyboard

Yes that is forge and I agree no big deal on the controls there, but I’m specifically referring to the controls in regards to playing/aiming as a spartan. Not sure if you read my post in how they mentioned that pc players will be able to play custom games which means they will be playing PvP using mouse and keyboard.

Yeah I saw it, and like I said about previous fps games, if you played fps games on PC it should be similar and better aiming control with the mouse with more degrees of freedom, hopefully. I hope we can also remap the keys too. If not, its not that hard. Not sure about the aim assist and what not. Some of the difference is that well you can’t walk slowly with a keyboard. There are specialized keyboards for that. But its basically faster reaction when you take your finger off the key versus your thumb off the stick.
You could always try out Halo Online (which you still can play outside of Russia https://www.reddit.com/r/haloonline) to get a sense of how it will feel.
