Win-Win Solution for Announcers

I have no idea who made this, but I wanted to get it out there for more people to see.

This image portrays the idea of the Announcer REQ unlocks, which would be a selectable, customizable option for who announces your Warzone or Arena games. This appeals to all players because they can choose the announcer they hear(whether it be the classic announcer, Palmer, Exhuberent, a Grunt, or even Sergeant Johnson), and it appeals to 343 Industries because it means more REQs they can sell for real money, which they can use to pay for the additional voice-work.

Is this now real or photoshopped?
In the stores there is nothing.

I disagree cuz a simple voice selection isn’t much work or worth money if you ask me. Not to mention saying that people are willing to pay for something so trivial just encourages 343 to do so even further while ignoring the fixes to the actual game. I mean why make money off the actual game if simple microTs can easily make up for bad sales if people are willing to shell 100s just for cosmetics, voices, and whatever else that ultimately doesn’t add anything to the gameplay itself.

i wouldn’t mind changing voices, but not if it comes with a price in $$ cuz that’s ridiculous, especially from a multi-billion franchise supported by a multi-billion dollar publisher.

Yes! I love this idea but for warzone only…I would honestly take anyone over Palmer for warzone her voice just gets so annoying sometimes also they should really add Jeff Steitzer as an option for an announcer for warzone

It isn’t, as I said, it’s a fan mock-up image made by someone I don’t know.

As I said, classic Halo announcer would also be included as a replacement for both Arena and Warzone voice-overs. As it is in Halo 5, Jeff Steitzer only announces medals and multi-kills at this point, doesn’t even announce objectives in Arena. (that generic Spartan voice announces it, usually.) This would fix that.

Wouldn’t have to pay for it. It would be a REQ item earnable through REQ points just like everything else. Maybe this is a reflection of yourself? After all, you instantly jump to money the first second it’s mentioned, I dare say that says something about who you are as a person. To me, the ability to purchase with money is a secondary option for if you are too busy to earn stuff regularly. Literally everything else in the world(including digital card games, MMOs, even most of Ubisoft’s SINGLEPLAYER GAMES like Assassin’s Creed have optional microtransactions.)

Regardless, voice-acting is a lot of work, and voice-actors tend to be the most finicky about their pay-per-work.

Nah, it’s no image about myself, it’s about trying to stop people from paying for stupid stuff when we used to get quality content for free or 60$ games were legit 60$ games. I have no issue paying extra IF it’s actually worth something. Cosmetics and voices aren’t worth it to me. I’m perfectly within my right to bring it up to cuz that’s why games are now adding into microTs and making obtainable cosmetics RNG based rather than straight up earning it. Could care less if I “don’t have to pay” if RNG B.S. Still effects me in the end and makes me have to play an unnecessary 100+ hours of “grinding” just to get one item. This is any game out there, not just halo.

youre right about voice acting work, not saying they should be under appreciated as many bring up the issue of long hours of work and actually having health issue with their voice and don’t get the proper insurance/pay to help cover it. Nevertheless voice acting isn’t the important factor in games that need to be payed extra for, especially when the devs are billionaires to begin with.

Too be fair, the devs aren’t billionaires. When all is said and done, each member gets very little. Point is, cosmetics are optional. And usually earnable(just because it’s RNG does not mean it was not earned) without payment. At least with RNG you aren’t “guaranteed” hours of grinding to get the one thing you want, because it’s random. You know what DOES guarantee hours of grinding? Level-based unlocks and such.

(Personally, I’m sorry, but my arguments against you is because I’m WAY too used to having everything I do/say/come up with shot down. I tell people AT LEAST 10 things a day, and I am GUARANTEED that at least one person will completely invalidate everything I say. I just want to have a good idea for once, or be right for once, or not have this amazingly satisfying realization only to have it turn out to be something I should’ve learned as a 5 year old. Turns out it’s NOT amazing that there are different kinds of apples… had to find that out the hard way. Which, apparently, the ‘hard way’ involves getting berated and insulted. But at this point I’m just venting.)

I’m aware the devs themselves aren’t billionaires as I was referring to the company itself. (Fun fact tho your average game developer makes 70-90k which is about 30-40k more than I make a year). The cosmetics are optional but that only lets them get away with ripping off those who don’t pay. RNG used to not be a thing with games, you earned them shorter and straight up as you had a specific achievement to do rather than do what I did to get copperhead playing 10+ days and getting it as one of the very last things. That’s why I dislike RNG based rewarding when I could’ve gotten it by beating/doing x in much less time. The point of the RNG is to make people addicted to coming back and trying again if the numbers didn’t roll their way. When I lay $60 and expect the same quality of past halo games, I expect it, I don’t expect the RNG B.S. It’s very much guaranteed grinding cause not everyone is going to have the luck that a different person will have nor will you always be lucky throughout the entire game. I’m tired if it after playing destiny, halo 5, and now gears of war 4. Again they make it this way cuz it’s a gambling addiction that has the nature of making EASY money without even doing anything lol.

to your 2nd paragraph: -Yoink- what others say if they feel the need to invalidate anything. If you think it’s good you bring it up cuz you not bringing it up means it may never come up again. There’s always going to be the -Yoink- that thinks he’s right all the time and will do whatever to support himself, including insulting whomever he can. I’m not trying to insult/berate you but I do disagree and don’t like your idea simply cuz I strongly dislike paying for cosmetics or what I call minor things like the voice lack. I’ve no issue if people pay extra, I do have an issue when them paying extra makes changes to the stystem in how I obtained things without paying. 343 put up the RNG system cuz they KNOW people will always come back and pay extra which in turn screws those who won’t pay over as now they get to put up with the RNG even with in game currency. I could give pages on this specific practice but I’ll save time and just say I disapprove but wouldn’t have had issues if it were done differently.

p.s. You want a good idea or to be right for once? Probably will never happen (with everyone anyways) as there will always be someone vs it, that’s forum nature but continuing the argument with logic and reason does help you in persuasion if you make others see it clearly. You want me to agree with you? I need more reason to. You want to know why I disagree? I can elaborate further. I don’t have anything vs you nor am I necessarily saying your idea or thinking is bad, I just disagree.

It isn’t fan made.

Article.

There is the picture AND a video of him scrolling through it to prove it isn’t Photoshopped.

This isn’t fan-made dude. It was found in a dev environment. Whether it will release or not is the real question.

I just hope you can buy it with req points…

If it is, that would be stupendous, but I’m hearing that it was only free because it was on a dev page. Who knows at this point right?

Still in testing phase, but hopefully this gets added soon and we’ll get johnson as an announcer in one of the updates.

I would love the announcer voice in warzone

I absolutely love this idea, the reason I played dota 2 for a while is because they added rick and morty as announcers. Imagine if 343 took advantage of other microsoft properties. Getting Marcus Phoenix to voice the announcer in warzone or arena or get or have some other well know people come in and so voices.
I’d love to see this, but its a shame it probably won’t happen. maybe halo 6?

In response to this image on r/halo:

> As you can imagine, the 343 team is hard at work on the upcoming content release and we’re looking forward to sharing more details about the bounty of free content coming to Halo 5 in addition to the premium “Voice of War” REQ pack. We’re close, just a little bit longer.

In other words, customisable voices will be present in the next update.

Voices of War is legitimate.
