Haha I respect that. Thanks for the reply.

Especially with the RNG for getting good challenges. If you don’t swap your challenges for decent ones then it takes forever. And here’s the thing, the only challenge I would consider “decent” is one so simple that it happens just by playing, without any particular effort to seek it out and alter one’s gameplay. If you can swap out difficult challenges, it isn’t really a challenging system just a nuisance.

Dude I ended up staying up till 3am, looked it up and it turns out the carbine kills were glitching for lots of people and not counting. So i spent about an extra 2-3 hours JUST on that challenge, then finally when i finished it at 3am it said now just complete the “ultimate challenge” to unlock the thing. WTF?! Dude it never listed an ultimate challenge before, so i wasted HOURS just to finish challenges that I ultimately wouldn’t have time to complete. It was 3AM and I needed to get 5 killing sprees in fiesta for my ultimate challenge, which is hard enough when half the people have rocket launchers. But seriously, it doesn’t show you in advance there will be one more challenge so I wasted all that time when if I had known in advance I would have just given up hours earlier. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. Why is it such a grind? Because the more the grind the more than can get real world cash for challenge swaps. Complete and utter greed at the expense of fans. Would much rather pay $60 once but of course that doesn’t give them a big enough cash cow for todays expectations I guess. Can’t believe how much they’re f ing us now. I’m so pissed off about how much time I wasted because of THEIR GLITCH and then to only find out there was one more hidden challenge. Unbelievable. Hope you managed to finish yours and congrats on the A lol.

It feels like people would only be ok with challenges like « Kill x amount of people » or « play x amount of games ». I remember Reach challenges to be a lot more difficult than those in Infinite… and nobody complained.

@AMAX_Reptile

I think the complaining is centered more around the battle pass progression, and challenges not being worth the grind. After the increase, today, for progression points from matches played, I can tell that 343i wants to give the players what they are asking for. I feel this will help those who don’t wish to complete challenges, or cannot complete them, still be able to pursue battle pass progression. At least until a larger work around can be pushed out.

The fundamental difference between Reach’s challenges was that the challenges in Infinite give you limited time rewards. Meaning in Reach you might do challenges to eventually unlock some really cool loot like electric effects and armor. In MCC you get point to unlock cool stuff. In Infinite you don’t acquire points to unlock stuff but rather you have to complete a ridiculous amount of challenges in a short amount of time to unlock a limited time thing, if you don’t then the devs laugh as you lose the opportunity to ever acquire the thing in question. It’s a lot crappier, a lot less interesting reward system.

This is like comparing a job that consistently pays a set amount and you can one day spend all that money you acquired to get something nice for yourself, vs a job where you work all the time really hard only in hopes that by the good graces of your slave master you may one day be given something, which you don’t get to choose, and you’re expected to be happy with.

Don’t believe that for a second. There will be playlists. What’s available at the moment is centred around HCS or the HCS playlists. This is due to the amount of money MS has pumped into their competitive scene. The tournament roadmap was set in place starting in November- that’s the only reason why we have the multiplayer now to support the first tournament in Raleigh and the online events that were set up. Too much work had gone into that for them to change it.
You and my two brothers will be playing your beloved SWAT very soon (I was never a fan).

But will the challenges force us to play playlists other than swat? Because if so, we’re still excluded.

Regarding challenges - I think it’s not a challenge if you don’t step out your comfort zone. But at least you can swap challenges. So in some sense they were thinking about you and others with similar issues.

I feel ya. I took a break from Infinite after I got my weeklies done for Willow Tea. I was just burnt out on it. Feels like a second job with these weeklies, tbh.

Willow tea is cool. One issue I have with this kind of weekly challenge for specific items, as opposed to MCC’s season collections, is that how many of us are actually going to remember what you did for the weekly challenges? I don’t really mind when you get points that way to spend on what you want.

However, I think customization unlock system halo 3 had (and other games up to and around that time) we’re more meaningful because they had static challenges for particular armor/items that were often tied to achievements. And not grind goals that come from playing the game where no one knows (self-included) what you did to get it. Sometimes the grind is natural and sometimes you have to go way out of your at to randomly land in the right game mode before you have an opportunity to work at a limited time challenge.

You could argue that everyone has the same ultimate weekly challenge, but since not everyone will know what that challenge unless they unlock it, it’s not the same as seeing a cool armor and saying “oh dang they had to do __ to unlock that… nice!”

To add to my last post, I think it would be cool to have items tied to specific achievements or unique challenges that can be achieved with no time limit, but still have the battle pass item pool (which has no time limit for halo infinite) that people can get through the usual grind and regular challenges

I wish you knew what you were talking about but you don’t. Anyway, it’s f2p so all your arguments are just BS complaints. You should just change your icon since you seem to be a Halo hater.

I would argue that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

With such a long development cycle and millions of dollars poured into it - hours of testing, redeveloping, and a year delay, this game has released with extremely minimal content and GAAS is a horrible excuse as is “it’s F2P.”
