Will you trust Halo 6's marketing?

I’m buying halo 6, no question. But when they start releasing material for it I’m going to be honestly looking at it with a very skeptical eye. Halo 5’s marketing campaign had me SUPER hyped, and then we got… what we got. I’m not really going to get that hyped over Halo 6 and that really freaking disappoints me. Anyone remember the commercials for halo 3 and the hype? I really want that to happen again. I love reading the comments on this forum and hearing theorys from some really awesome people. I honestly feel like that’s been damaged.

So in light of this I want to know 3 things from this community…

  1. Will you trust halo 6’s marketing?

  2. If not, How can 343 get your trust back with the marketing?

  3. How can we as a community and 343 work together to ensure this… marketing doesn’t happen again?

Personally for me I don’t entirely trust 343 with the marketing… I trust them to “Fix” the story however (ya I know) and keep Halo a triple A title. But again we had quotes from people how I thought I trusted and… ya… we all know who I’m talking about. I suppose the best way to restore that trust (For me anyway) is to just… keep the marketing true with halo 6, more feedback from people at 343 on these forums (Grimm is pretty awesome about that) and maybe we as a community need to stop getting outlandish with some of our theories (ONI as the main antagonist).

Still instead of making this a venting forum post, lets try to make it into something positive for both us and 343 to grow from. Because honestly us venting achieves nothing and while the blame can be partly laid at 343’s feet, name calling and the like is not really going to help anyone.

Better question is , will we pay attention? Will we even care?
Between the horrible launch and support for TMCC , and the misleading/down right deceitful marketing for Halo 5 , I doubt there is any thing they can do.

fool me once, shame on you…fool me twice, shame on me…they will have to earn my trust in general if im to believe them with something specific that they have already lied about

There was a lot of Hullabaloo over H3’s marketing and it didn’t really change people expectations. Personally I’ll be a bit more hesitant to buy the story that is being described, but that is about it.

Probably not, which is a shame because a lot of the stuff 343 talked about regarding the themes, plans for characters, and the marketing campaign (including commercials, Hunt the Truth, and other material) really set up what could have been a quality story. I just don’t get why they came up with all that good stuff just to lie about it having any impact on Halo 5 and go with whatever Halo 5 was supposed to be. Seriously, remember the infographic about Halo 5’s transmedia? See all those words across the top and bottom? I like how Redemption (for who?) is thrown in there along with Reconciliation (for who?), and Heritage (whose heritage?). It’s just buzzwords.
