Will You Fully Install Halo 4 Before Playing?

November 6 finally arrives. You rush to the store/mailbox and nab your copy of Halo 4 at long last. You fire up the ol’ Xbox and are seconds away from the glory that is the beginning of the Reclaimer Trilogy.
But now, a decision:
Do you fully install Halo 4 before you play for the first time? Installing will likely take 10 to 20 minutes; that could be a multiplayer match, episode of Spartan Ops, or the exposition for the campaign. On the other hand, installing the game will make it run smoother and quieter (especially if you have an older Xbox). So what do you do: install the game first or wait until later?

I will probably not install until the day after.

lol -Yoink- no !

17 hour halo benge, install while I take my 3 hour nap before driving to class

Always install first. Keeps wear and tear off the actual disc. This ain’t Steam, if that disc breaks your game goes bye bye.

sure whynot

I’ve been playing PC games for about a decade now, so being forced to wait 20mins or so before I can actually play a game is no big deal and it’s normal to me. Besides, I’d rather have it playing smoothly than being forced to endure long in-game loading times.

This guy also makes a good point…

> Always install first. Keeps wear and tear off the actual disc. This ain’t Steam, if that disc breaks your game goes bye bye.

Nope as I will be uploading the every single bit of Halo 4 as I can.

I’m going to install first and then go on like a 12 hr playing spree with my quiet and not over heating Xbox.

I thought you had to install the game anyway?

not if I install it in my down time

> I thought you had to install the game anyway?

Thats just the 8gb Multiplayer requirement.

I’ll install first.

Decreases the wear I’ll put on the game and Xbox because it miht be the only thing it’ll be playing for a while.

I will. I can read the LE Contents, get water to bring up since I won’t be leaving my room for a few days, switch out my contact lenses, and bam, Halo 4’s installed

I usually go over the manual and what it contains as the game is installing…

An excellent point. I forgot about all the non-digital sweet goodness that will come in the LE. It will definitely help pass the time.

This. Except for the contacts since I don’t need them. I install most new games before I play them anyways.

I know I am just like I did to Halo Reach and Halo 3

Of course I’m going to install it first.

I’ll install the game while I’m getting the food and drinks to my cave.

Depends. If the campaign comes on another disc then lolno. 16 GB for an installed game is WAY too much for my small 20 GB HDD. 8 Gigs, fine.
