Will you buy the season 2 battlepass?

Honestly if 343 really cared about this game they would recognize that they made a mistake in releasing infinite last year. When you make a mistake trust me, the hardest thing is admitting you made a mistake and more importantly how you move forward.

If you want to say pulling the plug for a short period is an extreme notion, what would you say to releasing a game with no co op campaign, no forge on launch, then adding 2 new maps in a year? Not to mention BTB was broken on launch. If 343 really cared about infinite we would have 2 to 3 month seasons with pauses to work on bugs, issues, feedback etc. If they continue to go down this road infinite will not last 2 years yet alone 10 years.

I care about halo and the community but I have a right to voice my opinion. If we can’t honestly voice our opinions and what’s best for this game, what is the point of this forum?

I honestly hope people wise up and don’t buy the battlepass or items from the shop in S2. I bought the S1 battlepass and that was a mistake. I thought and believed that this game would be in a better shape and a state in S2 but I was wrong and I’ll own and admit that. I’m not going to make the same mistake again.

Just like how I didn’t buy season 1, I won’t buy season 2.

2 things here that I see.

  1. 343 was fully aware that infinite was not ready, as well as Microsoft that is funding them.

  2. When you refuse to learn from your ā€œmistakesā€ you will never move forward. 343/Microsoft has had over a decade to learn, there is no mistake in what they did, it was planned as all developer do before releasing a game. But when it is as bad as infinite actually is, it becomes a childish game with the company to see what we can get away with before most of the player base catches on.

As far as expressing our opinion? You are 100% correct that it is our given right buying a product, and when any company doesn’t proved the servers they claim they will? You are damn right I will express my opinion whether anyone agrees with it or not.

Maybe after a decade 343 should actually learn to follow through with their words instead of playing their player base.

I honestly hope that more people will see this and will not buy S2. I have never wanted to route for a game to fail more than I have now and I have played halo for over 20 years. Infinite is a sham, I’m sorry. Some people will make arguments or justify what is being done here but if you can’t see what is happening here you don’t want to face reality.

The knifes have to come out and if we as a community continue to settle for less and less we have not done our parts and failed as a halo community. I honestly did enjoy the infinite multiplayer and campaign but I am not going to support a game with a developer that doesn’t have my back. 343 isn’t looking out for your or your opinion, only your money and time. The longer we wait to admit that the longer we fail as community.

Of course I will, why wouldn’t I?

The problem with players today is that companies like 343 has conditioned them to settle for less. That’s the actual problem and as long as that problem exists, things will only get worse.

Bungie with Destiny 2 is a prime example of how bad things can get, and 343 is trying to follow that same destructive path.

We don’t always realize as a community we wield the biggest power and the biggest weapon in our arsenal: our money $. If we were to just demand a better product and to stop giving infinite our money maybe it doesn’t solve the problem overnight but maybe we would actually get the attention of msft and 343. We can’t keep settling for less and less I’m sorry but I love halo and how infinite is being rolled out and handled is wrong. I’m not going to support a game blindly and foolishly hope the ship is righted.

Yes. I mean, just the fact you get the money back after completing the pass makes it worth it. On top of that, the premium content in it looks very solid. GRD helmet looks great.

Case and point whether people like the game or not. No Man’s Sky had a rude awakening, and as a result of it action was taken place to improve things.

So it’s not that things can’t be improved, it’s when will the player base wake the hell up to to motivate 343 to do their actual job instead of taking vacations…

The whole work life balance excuse is a sham. If you are under fire and are failing, you don’t reward people and take vacations. You have to have accountability and have to be willing to walk and chew gum. Work should continue and also projects should continue when people are out. If people I managed didn’t do what they are supposed to do and if it was a prolonged period, they would be fired. You can’t keep hiding behind excuses.

If they were milking it they would be pushing three month seasons with less content?

Stretching the seasons to six months is more weaning than milking.

It’s costing them money.

Originally I wasn’t going to, but get the credits back so yeah, I’ll be buying it even though it’s a 6 month season, it’s looking better than season 1

Not true at all, and Bungie is a prime example on how they set up events like Dawning basing the events around the shop. Besides all that, infinite is literally still in beta mode. Do you want to show me how only realasing 2 maps ā€œisn’t milking the playersā€ with only a BP/shops that is offered?

Hmm, this should be entertaining…

I think the real question is, how long will it take until we start seeing the first posts of ā€œI finished the battlepass, now I have nothing to do for 6 months.ā€ Lol I give it about 5 days.

I’m still on the fence, but I’m a lot closer to buying S2 than I was S1. I’ll probably bite the bullet. Most of the cosmetics look pretty good, especially if we get cross-core customization.

No doubt there will be people that will grind through it and post a few days later it’s finished, at least we know forge beta etc coming, and hopefully the drop pods come regularly enough.

Good thing progression system is coming, hopefully they implement it during season 2, it can make a difference

Absolutely. Assuming that there continue to be dozens of total new and unique armor pieces in the BP’s, I’ll keep buying 'em. Prorated down per individual cosmetic, the cost ends up being basically nill. Actually, I guess it ends up being literally nill in the case of S3 and on, if you save the cR you earn in the pass to spend on the next one.

Buying these passes is in no way similar to paying the comparatively insulting prices of shop bundles. Supporting the battle passes is the right move.

Guess it depends how you are looking at it.

Infinite was set up with quarterly seasons in mind. They would have been looking at selling four BP a year.

Putting out only 2 is surely costing them a lot of money.

Now personally I think that S1 was reasonable value for money. And S2 looks even better. I am happy with spending the cash.

But they are three months of content spread out to six. When I have money to spend.

That’s the opposite of being milked. My udders are full.

Sorry. No idea what you are talking about.

Ok.

Again. I think 2 maps per season / BP is fine. The price is right. The problem is that they aren’t coming fast enough.

At this phase, I don’t have any immediate plans to purchase any of the battles basses. However, I do despite this have a long term goal term goal to purchase the Premium Battle Pass Bundle for 2300 credits (~$25) when PvE option for earning xp becomes available and when some long term goals gets introduced like grind for max rank or completing commendations.

You are absolutely right.

I’m going to go straight to the Infinite shop and buy something.

I only wish I could gift you a pair of cat’s ears.
