Simple stuff. Will you buy Halo for XBOX One before seeing gameplay footage, or will you fall for Halo 4: Round 2?

Probably. Though I have many gripes with Halo 4, I still enjoy it. TBH I would buy it for the campaign alone. I can almost guarantee I’ll enjoy the campaign.
I will wait for gameplay videos before I purchase Halo 5/XBO. That is the responsible, informed choice to make.
They have learned from H4 and the next will be better you act as if it was worse then halo reach…
But yeah I will still wait to see more on it but odds are I will get it on release day. On top of all that jazz I feel most saw halo 4 and thought it looked good but at release H4 was bad…it can be competitive now and is fun to play NOW!

I’m sure Halo 5 will be one of the best if not the best Halo yet. I just hope they listen to the majority as opposed to the minority.

You act as though you can accurately forecast a developer’s intentions based solely on hearsay. Just because I’d rather play it over Reach does not excuse the 343 trademarked gimmicks.
“I feel most saw halo 4 at release…”
Your “feelings” don’t align with statistical fact and are nothing more than uninformed opinion.

Ahh okay I get where you are coming from now ^-^ I was not trying to be offensive I am sorry if it came across as such…you just want them to do better next time and not just “acceptable”

In essence, yeah.
well if it goes anything like the pre-release of the others i’ll watch all the released videos at least 5 times before the game itself comes out lol, so no. but on a more serious note while i am excited about the next halo we currently have no info about it or even know what games its gonna be and i was disappointed with halo 4 so while i know i’ll definitely be playing the next halo even if its just for story im gonna wait and see info and vids on the multiplayer before i consider it a purchase. which i never thought i’d say about a traditional halo game.
I made the blind decision to purchase and play Halo 4 based on the assumption that it would be Halo. It was not Halo. It was someone’s fantasy interpretation of Halo. Given how different Halo 4 was from the Halo I knew, I wouldn’t put it past 343i to add aim-down-sights to Halo 5. I’m going to wait and see what they do with it before I buy it. If multiplayer doesn’t look appealing, I’ll rent it for the Campaign and test the multiplayer while I have it.
I will wait for a few review videos, youtube gameplay of MM and general googling and forum browsing to see what they added / dropped.
There is a very good chance, ultimately, I will end up supporting Halo One. The only reason it is not a gimmie is because I don’t own the XB1 yet and Halo is almost quite literally all I play on consoles (big Steam guy for gaming in general these days).
If it still has kill streaks with PODs and such, I wont play. No hate or disrespect to 343 or MS… but it would just be a good time to go as I do not like the current direction and have not invested in hardware.
It would truly be a bummer not playing the campaign on my own profile… but not a $600 bummer + $60 a year bummer. I have a bluRay and Apple TV for the ‘One’ features and a PC + Steam + HDMI + 360 controller + Big Picture + Sony 55 inch-801 for my ‘console’. All for free (at this point).
That said, I STILL want a good Halo (:
I’ll be honest with you Waypoint, the only thing that will stop me from getting a preorder of the most expensive edition available will be literally everything about the game looking horrible beyond comprehension and a bunch of early reviews calling it the worst game since E.T.
Also the handling of the DLC leaves / left a sour taste in my mouth for how little they value me (us), the customer (customers), that supported them in a time of need (population…).
Call it what you want, but it’s wrong.
The only reason I’m adding this (on topic) rant is that it truly affected my decision on this poll as well.
I likely would have bought H5 if the game was ‘as is’ but supported the DLC customers… ‘OR’ if it was a real Halo game that didn’t support the customers.
‘Both’ of those put me on the ‘stop being a sheep / fanboy’ train. I can honestly say it makes me a little sad where I’m at. Halo CE was the first ever ‘non-sports game’ I ever played for the most part and will always have a place.
Of course since then there has been many others games to obsess over, none of which pasted Halo until Reach came around ):
I would definitely get Halo XBOX One without seeing gameplay, but only if it’s the next chapter in the Reclaimer Saga, not something like the rumored H2 anniversary.
It’s the return of Master Chief! The evolution of Halo multiplayer! I don’t need any further convincing!
I’d would still play Halo 4 because, despite what the haters say, it’s a great game and personally, my favorite so far.

That is your opinion and I respect it, but isn’t just blindly buying something a bad practice for consumers? Think about it, if most people had this attitude, then developers and publishers would have no incentive to actually improve anything. Would you if you knew you could publish anything and people would still buy it by the millions?
More power to you, but I think a more cautious approach is necessary.

I agree with Deception because I mean…look at COD people buy without reading or seeing anything about it.
(I love halo 4 I just want people to know what they are getting into you know?)
Yes, because i need a proper reason to buy the Xbox one, also campaign…
I need to know what happens next!

Ya know… you’re right. Sorry. I probably sounded like a over-excited kid there. (We all get excited…:P)
> snip
Don’t apologize its nothing to be sorry about your excited and that is fine. ^-^
(funny story about people buying COD without reading or watching I bought a COD game because a friend told me a certain installment was sooooo diff than the others…I took it back within 2 hours…it…was…the…same)
I will Most likely get an xbox one around this time and halo is my favorite game series so it’s kind of a no brainer
