I honestly want to see Yap Yap in infinite, just imagine Chief running away from 1,000’s of grunts or Yap Yap’s army trying to take over or destroy the Infinity, who knows? Maybe we might see a glimpse of them flying through the skies or in a battlefield, remember the Banished where hard to contain by the Covenant, and the Banished can’t even control Yap Yap’s army! Lets just hope Yap Yap find his Holy Golden Methane tank.
I actually haven’t played HW2 but i’m pretty sure that YapYap isn’t canon, at least as far as I know. So something like that probably won’t happen, but i’m sure we’ll have some kind of cameo for him, whether he’s in a secret room or his name is referred to in some different language like sangheli.

Yapap is technically canon but we don’t know how much of what we see from him in game isn’t, all that we currently know about him is that he’s a grunt that started a rebellion against Atriox.
No but el hee hee will
Him in Halo Infinite would be a little strange but not impossible. But he would only really be relevant if the Banished appeared since he is to be a minor foil to Atriox.
I hope he won’t be. I’ve always viewed him as a minor comic relief, seeing him in a mainline Halo game/story would be a bit too unusual for my taste. The best Halo stories are the ones that are believable. Not discrediting his actual addition to the lore, he’s fine, having humorous joke characters in moderation is fine, but when they become part of the main cast, things can get messy.
That would be awesome if he somehow got a cameo or mention in Infinite.
I was under the impression yap yap died on installation 04.

I think that it would be great. The whole Halo series is just one tragedy after another. Grunts have always been seen as slave soldiers. It would be great if Grunts to the show up for just a moment and it won’t break the lore. Grunt are a whole species after all.
Seeing as how Halo Infinite will be open world, or open world-ish, I think it would be a fun side mission to do. Something like, “Side mission unlocked: Destroy Yap Yap The Destroyer”, and you go to a Banished facility that has an unusual amount of grunts there. And you fight your way in until you’re seeing basically only grunts, and they are in far more numbers than usual. Then you get to one final room and you see there a grunt goblin with Yap Yap either in it to fight, or if they want to add to him later on, have him be escaping with the grunt goblin as the distraction. Could be a fun little cameo in a side mission.
Now you’re asking the real questions.
Fr though a grunt goblin boss would be very fun.
