Do you think we’ll see a Halo 3 Anniversary next year due to the mcc? As a realitivily new player I really want to after playing this game in mcc!
Would be nice but I think 343 said something about it being still good graphically. It is better than the other two but still could use some love. Playing it just looks old these days.

I don’t recall anyone from 343i stating that, but I do agree with the point. Halo 3 graphically isn’t too far behind Halo 2A and is not lacking in content. A remaster of a 360 era title seems unnecessary, especially with an XboxOne port already available that runs better.

I don’t think you understand either. Halo: CE (CEA) & Halo 2 (H2A) were remastered because they use to be Bungie’s. 343industries wants to remaster them so that they can make them theirs. The same would be true with Halo 3.
it might just be a thing but halo 5 is not out so i could only imagine that they’ll release it.
I really hope not! It’s my favorite campaign of all the Halo games but it still looks great in MCC. No need to sell me this game again.
I’d be interested only if they give it the full anniversary treatment and remaster everything including all the maps, not just some popular ones but all of them.
Halo 3 was amazing and i would love to see it make a come back but i feel a remake would just make 343 look like sellouts the graphics on the game are still great i feel i would happily play it as is.

Probably correct here, as for my statement, back when MCC was in development they were asked about the possibility of also doing Halo 3, so that all the games would look the same. Their response was that they didn’t think it needed it as it was still fairly fresh. I don’t remember who said this but I think they must be high, when you compare the Halo 3 graphics to the new ones it’s orders of magnitude in difference.

They remastered them in honor of their 10th anniversaries and catch up players who missed out. Bungie’s name is still in the credits alongside 343i.

I seriously disagree. Halo 3 doesnt look bad for a early 360 title but graphically it hasnt aged that well. pre-baked lighting, low res textures with poor polygon models. Artstyle of Halo 3 was great, but with modern tech Halo 2a and even Halo CE Anniversary are leagues above Halo 3.
I’d even argue that even with the grittier look, Reach even looks better (especially character models and the sandboxes) along with Halo 4.
And the xbone ‘port’ has terrible MP/forge/custom support with frequent framerate drops. A legitmate remake in the manner of Gears Ultimate (single-player and MP both being redone) with proper MP support would easily make it one of the best xbox one games ever made.
I think they said something about it being alright for what Halo 3 is, I understand why that is but think how many people would play H3 Anniversary. I remember when it was one of the best games of that time and rightfully so.

Aside from the obvious technical drawbacks Halo 3 has especially in comparison to later iterations, Halo 3 in my opionion still looks pretty damn good especially when taking in a lot of the larger vistas on the Ark and the Covenant. Uping the polygon count on the models, making higher resolution textures, and adding a dynamic light system doesn’t seem like that big of leap for Halo 3. It’s not like they can make a HD remake with terminals adding to the lore, because Halo 3 already runs in HD with terminals already included.
The XboxOne version has roughly the same support the 360 version of Halo 3 has. It would have been much more convenient to give it an improved file share system much like Reach’s, but Halo 3’s Xbox One customs/forge is more less the same as it was on the 360 which is a bit of a bummer. As for framerate dips after a certain patch I stopped experiencing framerate issues (at least that I have noticed).
I would prefer 343i not remake Halo 3 especially now since it is available on the Xbox One and probably will get BC support at some point. After one remake and collection release I would rather see new titles in the franchise.
Halo 1 and Halo 2 warranted a remaster, but I think Halo 3 stands on it’s own. It doesn’t need a remaster, in my honest opinion.
Probably or expect another spin off between halo wars 2 and halo 6. Another thing people forget is that 343 developers didn’t necessarily build Halo CEA and 2A but was done by several other independent developers ex: Saber Interactive who gave the campaign the anniversary treatment for both, Certain Affinty who handled multiplayer for both, and Blur for cinematics in 2A. I may be wrong but to my knowledge and research 343 barely did anything in the anniversaries because most staff was working on H5
Nope because it would push back with Halo 6 to three years after Halo 5 and at the rate the players are blowing up about it the halo series would take to be of a hit, If you want to play Halo3 play it on MCC.

Um, if Halo 3A launched, it would commemerate it’s 10th anniversary like the others. most likely anyway. Unless you’re referring to Halo six being pushed back to three years after 5, which is already most likely the case. each mainstream halo game has had a three year dev time. Halo 4 started development back in 2009 so thats why it came out only two years after reach.
I would love to see an anniversary, however wouldn’t be upset if one never came to be as the game is perfection.
I hope so. Especially for the multiplayer, in MCC it isn’t very good…
I don’t see why not.
