Do you guys thing we will be fighting huge wars in multiplayer in halo 4?
By that i mean something like this:
-4 wraiths each side ( 8 wraiths in the game )
-4 Banshees each side ( 8 banshees in the game )
-Huge ships on the air firing Macs? which we control (maybe)
-we can choose to go outside the map and enter space, so there are people fighting on ground and alot of people fighting in space
-Alot of explosions
those are just quick ideas i just thought of.
wont if be fun if, when we fight in a game, knowing there will be an explosion somewhere near you.
unlike in reach, where you can litrally, most of the time go around the whole map ,knowing you’ll be fine.
what do you guys think? Should we have big battles? if yes, WILL be?
Being cool and practical are different things . . .
Ya, a giant UNSC warship firing MACs at the ground sounds fun doesn’t it? But what about the people getting shot by it?
The vehicles part sounds more realistic and practical. If we could achieve a larger player count on Halo (say 24 players at least) that we could include larger maps and more vehicles. It’s not that simple though, and I doubt that we’ll see anything above 16 player matches until Microsoft creates the next Xbox and improves current Net Code.
For example: Battlefield 3 had to cap consoles at 24 players because the amount of bandwith needed for any player cap above that was just too much. We couldn’t handle it. At one point the Developers were playing 80 player conquest matches on Console but the consoles were all connected in a way and bandwith usage was minimal.
The above is something I read from the BF3 forums . . . kinda copied pasted if anything about it is wrong . . . I know absolutely nothing about the topic.
What i have said were just examples. not actualy asking them to be in the game

What I’m trying to imply is that we most likely wont see bigger battles than what we’ve seen in previous Halo games.
We could probably mimick larger battles by things like maps with ONLY air vehicles to get around or making sure there are always enough vehicles for players to treck in. But we’re most likely stuck with the 16 player count and the map sizes associated with that. Don’t get me wrong though, I think 16 players is great, but larger maps and player counts would be even better.
I’d prefer if we were not given all the vehicles at games start. Instead of having the teams fare share of stuff in front of them at spawn I think it would be a bit funner if we had to go in to the map and maybe fight for our stuff.

I personally think that might be a bad idea . . . vehicles are usually more powerful than weapons, its a given. The reason weapons can be strewn across a map for no purpose is because if one team gets them, it doesn’t necessarily spell oblivion for the other.
Let’s say vehicles were spawned around a map though, lets use Boneyard for an example. There will always be one vehicle everyone will break for from spawn, in this case, the scorpion. Usually one team grabs the scorpion and right off the bat it’s blown up by someone who boarded it because they were also chasing it . . . this makes the vehicle useless.
Now lets say that they didn’t blow up the scorpion, the gunner shot the guy who boarded him and is moving around the map. Now, one team has an uber awesome scorpion and the other team has jack Yoink!, the scorpion can easily crush any of its opposition, and finally after so many kills, one of your teamates might get lucky and get the tank.
Because of their shear power, vehicles should be spawned equally, this way if team one loses their scorpion that it is their fault and team two deserves the battle. This is also partially why each side of hemorrage has a sniper, because the map is so open snipers can easily dominate, so each side gets one instead, so the sniper on the map isn’t OP.
I tend to doubt that we’ll see that scale of battle, I 'm hoping for a player cap increase but even if it does happen I don’t see anything past maybe 10v10 or 12v12 and that is being optimistic I think. I mean we might see the scale go up a little if the player cap goes up but not to the scale you(the OP) described.
