Will we get a Custom Game Browser Next Month When Forge is released?

Will we get Custom Game Browser when Forge comes out next month? If not that is really gonna suck big time.

Remember!, Forge wont be worth a crap if we dont have a custom game browser. It would be like buying a car without a engine. You cant have one without the other! Fact!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I’m going to be pessimistic.
I doubt a custom games browser will come. They might fix custom games and the file browser though since we have them (although broken.) Maybe theater too.
But there still won’t be lobbies so you can at least grab people for a custom game in lieu of a custom games browser.
I want to be optimistic, but I can’t shake the feeling something will get messed up.

Bummer. That does not sound good. I don’t like lobbies. In a custom game browser you just looked in the list and pick whatever server you wanted to play on. I’m into simplistics. I don’t work hard I work smarter.

Lobbies + fileshare are more efficient in spreading mass numbers of gametypes/maps. In one single Halo 3 lobby you could browse everyones fileshare and download dozens of maps or custom gametypes. Hope we get both.

That’s how it was like in the pre Halo 5 days. You had to get to know people to form games and you could browse game modes attached to profiles.

Both would be ideal. The customs browser is great to just hop in. The lobbies are good for making new friends.

Custom games browser could take time.

That would really suck if that is true. There is no excuse to wait almost a year to get a custom game browser. It bad enough that it will be almost a year to get forge. It has been 9mos. and the custom game area is still broken.

WOW!! IMHO there is something really wrong here.

Let’s be realistic. The “UI limitations” prevents even 10 modes in normal matchmaking. I don’t see us getting a customs browser for yyeeeaarrss like MCC. Most likely you’ll be using some alternative LFG method. The most common are/were:

Xbox Live LFG
Halo Infinite Discord LFG
Thebeerkeg
Halobase.net
Halotracker.com/halo-infinite/lfg

Alternatively, since Infinite has a public API and has party invitations via Discord, most likely Halotracker will add LFG instant join to their mobile app and PC overlay, so you could join with that

I remember someone mentioning that not much progress has been done to get the custom game browser set up yet, but there were no sources that I remember to verify if that statement was true or not.

It doesn’t have to be super fancy. Just functional would be ok as a start.

And some sort of spotlight for the most popular maps and modes.

Probably not. Hopefully I’m wrong but we’ll see.

Has forge even been officially released as a flight program?

343 forgot to say that the Leak was the Beta.

I already got in touch with beerkeg a few months back about the custom browser like they had for MCC. He emailed me said he could not do Halo Infinite Programing something like XLM or something like that. I even offered money to make one.

If it’s gonna take another year to get a custom game browser then 343 has some serious issues IMHO

OP, you shouldn’t even be concerned about Custom Browser until the Custom Games themselves are up to snuff and fully functional, which they currently are not.

Amen Brother! I just want it functional! I could care less what it looks like!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I doubt forge even drops before the end of September. All the info we have is from leaks. 343 hasnt shown it off yet. So far when 343 is silent it means they are hiding bad news and not that they have a good surprise

NGL this whole game is a Beta

That’s because 343 hires people on 12 month contracts, but it takes 6 months to train them on how to use Slipspace, so literally nothing gets done for almost 9 months after being hired, then you’re fired 3 months later

Meanwhile Bungie and Certain Affinity keep people for decades and build close relationships with each other, making them far more productive in a fraction of the time

Customs browser necessitates a playerbase large enough for it. As it stands, no need has been proven for one.
