For all the frustrations I have with Halo 4 and 5, I really like their weapon/vehicle commendations. Having a XP incentive to get better at things I’m normally bad at doing is a really cool concept. I’d love to see that return in Infinite. The same goes for PvE commendations, assuming Firefight makes a return at some point. IMO, it’d also help increase the quality of Infinite’s progression system.

Commendations for Infinite would be a great addition. Things like get x amount of kills of x enemies. Or get x amount of kills with specific weapons. The rewards could be weapon coatings or emblems. Maybe even some cosmetic stuff for the multiplayer spartan.

One of my fond memories of the original Cod4 was getting headshots to get a gold weapon skin. Or Runescape, although I could never put in enough time and energy to get that skill-cape.
Are there not enough fashion designers at the company in order to provide large amounts of customization provided by commendations? How about all the unlocks I played for in the previous games. You think I am going to grind for those again…maybe, but currently we are expected to straight up pay for them? LOL
I hope this is on topic enough for the forum community, hard to believe commendations to get customization did not come with a base game. Instead, will be dripped out over years. What is the opposite of predatory pricing? Price fixing?

They confirmed of a Spartan Career, I think they should deifnitely add commendations with satisfying rewards, like they did in Halo 4. Not many people will complete all the commendations, so those rewards are a way to get something more unique and not easily passed through money.

I would love to see commendations return. I was truly baffled that they didn’t allow players to gain XP through gameplay in matchmaking and no career progression or commendations like what was found in the previous titles.
I think these sudden and spontaneous removals ultimately put too much reliance and stress on their “new” Challenge system in Infinite and this was bound to burn players out quickly and required a lot of tweaking (now challenges are anything but challenging, they are more akin to chores).
Match XP (beta) has returned and Career Progression is being talked about. So, maybe Commendations will make a come back too? Infinite is still being assembled as we speak, so there is always potential, but waiting on 343 can be so excruciating.

If they ever do come back, which they won’t, they will ring hollow since the most we will get from them is a little xp grant. No way 343 will give customizations options. They can’t even fill out a few battle passes and the shop.

Commidations were ny favorite part of halo 5. All i did on that gams was work on them.

Not only is it baffling, but 343 was responsible for 3 (now 4) challenge/XP systems. All of which were anywhere from decent to good. (H4, H5, MCC, Infinite). They could have copied anyone of them. Or copy Bungie’s homework with H3 or Reach…

Getting the Brute Plasma Rifle Commendation was some of the best fun I had with that game.

Same! I had an absolute blast with that one. It’s such a good weapon.
Plasma Pistol kills in Halo 4 were a lot of fun.
Getting all commendations in Halo 4 was very fun overall. In Halo 5 too, I am just sad, that I probably won’t anymore finish all the commendations for the breakout mode in 5. I still play Halo 5, MCC and Infinite.
