When Halo 2 was released, players for the first time able to play as a different species besides Spartans, the Elites. Tons of people from the Halo community loved playing as aliens and thought it was a great idea to continue playing as them in future games. So tell me this… WHY DID 343i THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO REMOVE THE ABILITY TO PLAY AS ELITES IN HALO 4? THEY WERE AMAZING! Sorry got over-excited. A lot of people speculate that since the Arbiter a.k.a Thel Vadam will be one of the main characters of Halo 5’s campaign, we will be able to play as elites. If 343i listened to the community and allowed us to play as elites in Halo 5’s multiplayer, that would be fantastic. However they would have to delay the games release so they can work can work on the elites. I hope people will read this so they too understand why elites MUST make a return in Halo 5.
It is really likely that they will be in the multiplayer, if not then 343 is really dumb and obviously not listening to the fans
I’d rather them have then in an update than have them delay the game. I would want them to delay the game if it isn’t finished but not just for elites. I do want the elites, though, and I do think 343 would be making a big mistake if they didn’t include them in the game at all
Elites were removed from Halo 4 because they wanted to integrate multiplayer into the canon. War games were meant to be Spartans training on Infinity between missions, and since Infinity lacks an outfit of human friendly elites, elites were not included. Halo 5 seems to be continuing the theme that multiplayer is training for Spartans, so elites seem unlikely. However I agree that elites should be in multiplayer, and there is an easy lore fix by saying that the UNSC is conducting joint ops with elites from the Arbiter’s army, and they want to get both Spartans and elites used to working together in a combat scenario. I would love to see elites return to multiplayer, but I personally think that for Halo 5 it is unlikely.
At this point, considering that they have consistently refused to talk about it, I think it’s fair to assume that they won’t be playable. Unfortunate.

The beta was released nearly a year before the full released im sure they have alot planned and yet to be announced

This was an awful excuse to not include Elites in MM. They could have very well included Elite simulations just like the flood.
With the Helioskrill armor in the Beta I highly doubt we’ll get playable Elites in MM. I’ll be disappointed but not surprised if they don’t show up.
playable elites needs to happen for community building! No they do not have much place in a competitive multiplayer but customs and machinimas are great community builders and 343 some community right now.

They could try to surprise us at E3. It would definitely build hype and reduce the hate directed towards them.
