Will Waypoint ever run as good as B.net?

Will the Halo Waypoint forums ever be fixed up to run as quickly and smoothly as Bungie.net? Without the long page refreshes, the automatic sign outs, the crashes, and just the overall slow and poor performance? Can’t Bungie let 343i have a copy of their forum engine?

When Halo 4 comes out, these forums will be flooded with new members. I don’t feel like these forums can handle all that traffic without tons of complaints about the site. I want to see 343i do very well. I’d like to see Waypoint become a more pleasant place to navigate and use.

Your thoughts?

UPDATE: 4/23/12 - Unless I’m imagining things, Waypoint seems to be running a little bit better now than it was when I first made this post. I’m not sure what they fixed, or if they fixed anything, but it seems to run a little faster. I still have the problem of loosing an open thread when I refresh the page after a few hours of inactivity.

The site is relatively new in comparison to BNET. Give it time; the bugs will be ironed out.

bungie had alot more time to refine and perfect their forums. I would imagine in due time waypoint will even the score.

The forums here run just as smooth as bungie’s for me.

Halo waypoint is advancing at an incredible rate! Try browsing bungie.net on your mobile.

Waypoint runs fine for me, but B.net ran even better. Just wait, they have 10 or more years to perfect the site and forums.

Honestly I believe that waypoint will surpas bungie.net. It seems that mobile is better here than on b.net.

Waypoint’s mobile surpasses B.net’s, yes but a good mobile version doesn’t correlate to having a functional and extremely user-friendly website.

But Waypoint is a lot younger than B.net and it’s still maturing

Bungie.net runs on forum tech from 2004.

I don’t think 343i wants that stuff here.

No need to fix what isn’t broken, 343i seem to be going with flashy & fancy or functionality, which isn’t the way to go, the Service Record on Waypoint is a lot worse compared to Bungie.net’s on terms of loading time and the forum software is not exactly a known one and has a few bugs in the software, some that I believe are YAF problems and nothing 343 can sort out.

But as said, Waypoint is maturing, the console app is pure perfection, won’t be long until we are running at that standard.

My major problem with waypoint is that it signs me out while I’m replying to a forum post (sometimes). If they can stop that and also make the site quicker, than my life can end in fulfilment.

I’m having problems with the layout and design, couldn’t they just had copied the design of B.Net? I can’t even find my legendary medals here on waypoint!? the only one is killionare, where is the rest of them?

Just noticed that the killing spree medals also are gone, no running riot or rampage?

If they copies Bungie’s layout, they would have been sued for copyright.

There are a lot of medals currently missing on Waypoint, I myself made a list a while back and contacted the admins about it, I was given a thank you and said it would be corrected in the future.

The next site update is going to be April 1st when Waypoint do their move on the final Halo transition.

If my laptop hadn’t died I would have said that…

this

Bungie forums used to be riddled with problems, this is just a teething phase for 343i with their forum. Personally I haven’t had any problems with Waypoint in ages…

It’s not possible to copy it anyway, the company that wrote the source code (that they based the current layout on) went bankrupt.

I don’t believe he meant copy as in go behind the scenes to steal a source code, but have the layout and functions work the EXACT same as Bungie’s site.

Other than stats stuff, I don’t see anything wrong with waypoint… I want it to be waypoint not bungie.net 2.000
