I think it’s tentatively scheduled for the June update. So it should cost nothing, but your self-respect.

It was never said that the updates will stop in June. And if players keep paying for req packs, I doubt we’ll pay for the next updates.
From what I gather from the teasers so far being based on default maps I’d say it’s probably free but since the date is unknown then if it ends up after June then it could end up as paid dlc.

As long as players keep buying REQ packs to fund these DLCs, they’ll be free.

That was the claim from the beginning. 343 stated that updates would be monthly and free through June 2016. Some people have claimed there would be updates after that, but I haven’t seen any confirmation yet.

Q: It’s cool that they’re doing free DLC maps, but why does it say “for the first year” I haven’t been following the game closely, due to mostly a media blackout, but did we know this already?
