Everyone loved Firefight…yet they eventually parted with it. SOME people loved Spartan Ops and they parted with that too.
So my question is, will Warzone suffer the same fate? Do you think they’ll stay with it for Halo 6?

Idk really maybe its just like big team battle but with ai and req system. So idk really its a ok game mode. Tge bosses point system sucks
The Warzone idea was good, the execution of it not so much. As KingxMonkey said, boss point system sucks. If there aren’t any significant changes made, it would be almost pointless to include in Halo 6. At least Firefight and Spartan Ops were mostly fun. Warzone is boring with the too low enemy AI encounters and randomness of Boss Kills, along with not enough maps.

They are OBVIOUSLY going to make changes though. I’m just wondering if these changes will continue with a Warzone v2.0 for example.

They could’ve made changes for Spartan Ops too, but they cut it out in the end.
Warzone doesn’t strike me as memorable. On paper, it’s pretty identical to the MOBA format, only your upgrades are finite items that use micro-transaction and easy to lose, and the execution is full of loopholes (Boss system, REQ skewed towards those with more individual Spartan Kills/Boss Takedowns, group effort for taking down AI bosses is unrewarding for anyone that didn’t land the last 3 hits, Vehicle spawn is automated so literally no chance to counter anyone camping the mid-base spawn, Having the Core as a second objective leads to teams locking enemy teams in their bases to gather points instead of ending the match faster, and way too many more)
They had room for innovation, but they decided with this in the end, which is by all means fine, but nothing memorable, so it’s likely to meet the same fate.
I think Warzone is great but needs some tweaks. Enemy AI needs to be improved and we need more of it. More maps obviously. Other little things but these two stand out
Only thing war zones needs is: Base points done on bosses via percentages. Eg. If blue team does 75% of the damage and red does 25% of the damages, Blue teams gets 112 points and red gets 38. Another thing needed is a more variety of game mades. A good idea would be to have 24 people vs the AI, and have massive battles going on. The last thing that war zone needs is simply more maps as having just three gets old fast.
I dont know its kinda hard to say. Judging by the pattern we’ve had firefight in odst and reach, spops with 4 and now warzone with 5. They change everything with each halo iteration. Nothing stays. I thought spops was a good idea
they shouldve stuck with that and took their time to develop it right. But they’ll probably scrap warzone for something else with the next halo like they have been doing.
I doubt it, most people I know that are still playing are playing Warzone, it seems more popular then firefight and especially spec ops
Warzone will probably stay due to the success of REQ packs. However, if we are able to forge Warzone maps on our own then Halo 6 will have plenty of creative outlets to draw from. In turn allowing Warzone to evolve into something memorable.
I think the way Warzone was done allows for a lot of modularity in the far future.
If they worked on it and made it editable by players and had large forge maps and all, it could possibly turn out like ARMA, where there are full mini campaigns built straight from the editor.
No.
Spartan Ops was a good idea, executed badly. SO seems like it was dead the moment it came out.
If they keep dropping me into games on the losing team that is down 400 points and have no bases, then yes I WILL part with it. 343, not everyone has time to try to get 12 people together so they get full games. STOP DROPPING ME INTO OTHERS GAMES.
Warzone is here to stay due to revenue from REQ packs. I said few times before that I hope for a Firefight+Warzone hybrid where you can also use requisition. It seem like a no-brainer and win-win for both players and devs.
Firefight was passionately loved by a very small number of players, myself included. Firefight was a matchmaking playlist in Reach, just like team slayer or infection, and that means they have actual numbers for what percentage of players frequented that play list. And, as much as it pains me to say it, that percentage wasn’t even close to the number it would have to be to justify the cost of continued development. Exact same deal with spartan ops. I guarantee you that the numbers for warzone are not just significant - they’re probably huge. There’s no way to know for sure, but I’d be willing to bet that it pulls in as many players or more on any given night as does team slayer or big team battle. It’s here to stay.
If it’s in favor of firefight, then I hope so. Cause Firefight is 10x more fun.
I never parted from Firefight. I took breaks from it, but I do that with basic multiplayer too. Firefight was Halo’s only ever survival mode. I feel like every Halo game needs it. I did a lot of Firefight customs as well.
