The flip flopping of her character and her death status really makes doing anything too fulfilling or satisfying in Infinite rather difficult imo. I am very curious to see how the execute it, I wouldn’t mind a permanent end at this point tbh.
If they are gonna kill Cortana once and for all, kill masterchief with her as well. I can’t imagine masterchief continuing his career in UNSC after killing cortana like nothing happened. I always saw halo as a love story of an ai and a supersoldier more than a space factions -Yoink!- with each other. But she isn’t going anywhere for at least next 5 years. The game is meant to updated with new chapters and dlcs added time to time. The first few are going to be just about banished that’s for sure, with Cortana hardly having a participation in the war between banished and UNSC . She should die as the last remaining threat to humanity. And her death should be at the hands of none other than chief. I would say chief should die right after. Like he might be injured or something like that or going on few more suicidal operations and loosing himself. There’s no way Cortana is gonna be left alive. If she does, UNSC is to be questioned. Nor can chief protect without going awol and become a priority threat for seriously this time. Whatever they plan, just don’t fk up this time plz. At least the cortana-chief arc of halo 4 was beautifully written. And if chief dies, just make him sure that there’s no other threats to humanity. Just like iron man. Chief seriously needs rest…just like iron man

She just needs to stick to her role. Being the ruler of the Orion arm that thinks she knows best for its inhabitants. Nothing at this point should sway her from her ideas and concepts and Chief should not be the one to solely stop her. She can explain why she did what she did more clearly but dies sticking to her own ideas, that the only way I see her character being salvaged.

I agree, committing to the character they have created and leaning into an antagonist role by making that role consistent and convincingly complex is the best and really only appropriate road forward at this point in my view. If they try to revert her back to good cortana it would be like she has had zero productive character development since the original trilogy which would be a tragedy
Cortana died in Halo 4, I’m not sure what that was in Halo 5, but it wasn’t Cortana.
It would be nice to walk around the ring and having cortana randomly talking like the good old days but unfortunately I just think we’re past that phase. I wouldn’t be surprised if chief gets a new AI.

cortana died in halo 4. that is not cortana in h5. what ever it is, and i have ideas, but wont go into it, but what ever it is its using the image of cortana in halo 5 to use chief to activate the guardians , which it did. i wouldn’t be surprised now its got what it wants we will see its true form towards the end of halo infinite. If cortana does come back into halo it a be a copy version of her but not the original.

I think if it does poorly, it will be the last halo. At least for a decade or so. I know they are planning a 10 year roadmap, but im sure there will be spinoff games and big expansion the size of a halo game included. But if 343 messes up again I can see halo going dormant for a long while.
I think the campaign at launch will have little to no Cortana input.
Though it’s likely that the campaign updates over the next 10 years will lead to her conclusion.
